How odd. If I was a conspiracy theorist, I'd say that's what she told her husband..... But I'm not so I won't.

I think you can get pregnant without having sex. I don't think it happens that often but sperm can survive for a good few hours outside peoples's respective bits. Also you don't have to have sex for that sperm to then get in contact with fanjo & start swimming.

Not sure I'd get into it with just an acquaintence though. What exciting coffees you have, wish mine were like that!

THe only person I know who got pregnant without having sex as the Virgin Mary (I am a catholic). As far as I am aware I thought the sperm was dead once it left the body, how old is this woman, why is she embarressed to say that she had a good old shagg? Thinking about it have people been known to get pregnant using a turkey baster (or was this just in Brookside - I sound worse than your acquaintance!)

My Mom always told me to be careful as you could get pg when just "fooling around".

She also told me she would unertake the Tough Love method and make me go cold turkey if I ever had a spliff.

Her theory sounds a bit far fetched. Was she (or her partner) unhappy about the pregnancy?

Namebacon - my SIL got "an infection" from never ever having sex. She was living with the boyfriend at the time, but SMIl told everyone that they weren't having sex. Then SIL (who was 18 at the time) told me that she had caught "a disease" from him, but "I don't know how as we weren't having sex". The thud of my mouth hitting the floor must have been heard miles away

YABU, it can actually happen. if a man is to masturbate and the semen was to be transferred from his hand into her female bits, then she can fall pregnant very easily. not sure it would be much fun doing it that way, but each to their own.

Well that's just typical, we've been having sex all the bloody time for 21 months and I'm still not pregnant, then someone goes and manages it with no sex at all

In a genuinely remarkable coincidence (I think) I just asked a related question in the conception thread, re: an argument/debate I am having with DH. It was entirely hypothetical in my case since I am definitely NOT pregnant, and just thought my DH was relying too heavily on rubbish information from his school days! Not sure what to think now!

Can happen. I knew a woman who got preggers from anal. It can happen when semen leaks out into the fanjo. WikiAnswers explains how it's possible
