Hi!

I have been offered today to go on an all expences paid trip to Spain, but the problem is it is on Monday!

I have three children; 2, 5 and 6...and its ds's 3 birthday on Monday.

Someone cannot go last minute and i have been given the chance.

If i go it would mean dp would have to take a week off work to look after the children. I am so tempeted but worried about missing everyone, leaving them in the lurch etc....

What would you do?

Thanks

I'd go

PestoSunshineMonster · 29/04/2009 20:47

I wouldn't

SchrodingersCat · 29/04/2009 20:48

Can you afford to go with your DP off work?

Is it a trip you will never get again?

If you go you can get a fab present for your DS. At 3 he will be upset for a few minutes then get over it. It won't scar him for life.

Is there someone else who can look after the kkids so DP can work to keep the money coming in.

I think you need to examine this a bit further. SOunds like fun though.

ellceeell · 29/04/2009 20:49

I'd go

travellingwilbury · 29/04/2009 20:49

What does your dp think ?

You could always have an early birthday for the 3 yr old . He won't know any different

BananaFruitBat · 29/04/2009 20:49

I wouldn't miss my child's birthday for the world.

lalalonglegs · 29/04/2009 20:49

Go

BiscuitStuffer · 29/04/2009 20:50

Absolutely - parties are much better on sundays anyway .
If your DH is happy for you to go then absolutely go.

IheartNY · 29/04/2009 20:51

I wouldnt go, due to DS's birthday, the short notice, plus the fact that it would use up half DHs holiday from work that would mean we couldnt spend time together later in the year.

On the other hand, if DH could get time off work without pissing them off at the short notice and had loads of holidays left AND he really didnt mind at all, then I'd go!

threeandcounting · 29/04/2009 20:55

Thanks so much for your replies!

Don't feel so bad now! We have talked about having a party on the Sunday instead..!

Its good to hear other peoples opinions!

Schor; We can just afford him to be off-he thinks its a great opportunity and thinks i should go....Last holiday we had was 8 years ago (just before ds1 was born!)

travellingwilbury · 29/04/2009 20:58

In that case you should definetly go

junglist1 · 29/04/2009 20:58

I definetely wouldn't go, and would be peed off with myself for not going. I'm peed off with myself now for knowing I wouldn't go. I'm peed off with myself now for admitting that I know that I definetely wouldn't go. So you go, then you won't have to be peed off with yourself for not going.

humptyNdumpy · 29/04/2009 20:59

Go Go Go!

(and party on Sunday)

travellingwilbury · 29/04/2009 21:00

sorry but great answer junglist1

BettySwollux · 29/04/2009 21:03

If you're not gonna go, can I?

junglist1 · 29/04/2009 21:04

Thanks ever so! Need an aspirin now though!

IheartNY · 29/04/2009 21:31

Based on further info - GO!

BodyBagEgg · 29/04/2009 21:34

I would have packed my bag by now.

GO

hatesponge · 29/04/2009 21:40

Definitely definitely go. If you havent had a holiday for 8 years you more than deserve it! I imagine DCs will have a lovely week with their Dad at home, and you can still have a lovely party for your DS on Sunday

Twims · 29/04/2009 21:41

Go

threeandcounting · 29/04/2009 22:13

I wouldnt go.

Olifin · 29/04/2009 22:24

I'd definitely go!

Hope you have a great time, if you do go.

andlipsticktoo · 29/04/2009 22:31

I would probably go but feel dreadfully guilty about it.

But that's me, riddled with guilt! Feel guilty I should have read a longer story to ds3 tonight (he's fast asleep and doesn't care a hoot!)

ChippingIn · 30/04/2009 00:21

GO - bloody hell, I'll come and pack for you!!

DH thinks it's a great idea and is fully supportive. No one is missing out on anything because of it (financially) and you'll have a blast.

Tell 3 yo it's his birthday Sunday - he wont know/care and you can call him on Monday 'just to say Hi'.

I don't understand why you are even asking...GO GIRL!!!!
