Probably only a night time advert - japanese office worker (male) stumbles upon woman (presumably secretary) photocopying her vagina (straddling photocopier) followed by image of long thin biscuit being coated in chocolate (phallic/sex image?) and the tagline 'more than a little bit tempting' - Is it just me, or is that really sexist and gross?

kat2907,

It isn't just you it seems, but you have missed the beginning of the advert, and the woman is not photographing her vagina, at least not meaning to. The chocolate being coated is not phallic, just common place in adverts, and the part about it being tempting is to do with the fact that SHE was so tempted that she ended up in an embarrassing situation.

I've been reading this thread wondering why everybody is going on about an old advert.
Thanks for pointing out the dates, I didn't even notice.
FWIW in the Virgin one (which apparently was withdrawn) I fancied the pilot.
How sexist am I.

EricNorthmansMistress · 19/09/2011 20:48

Well thanks AngieTierney, it was really useful of you to resurrect a 2.5 year old thread about an advert to point out something that many people had already pointed out, and that in fact I had already explained myself as well.

That really added to the sum total of knowledge and wisdom in the world.

spookshowangellovesit · 19/09/2011 22:09

i am with wem that is an extremely offensive ad.

spookshowangellovesit · 19/09/2011 22:14

hahaha good god i did not see how old that was. i was talking about the so easy even a man can do it ad, not the chocolate ad. who the frig would bump so old a thread.... to much time on their hands.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 19/09/2011 22:14

Anyway I have a theory about these thread bumps from many moons ago.
New poster join the site and discover the joys and wonders that is AIBU. They cant get enough of it, they click through page after page, going back further and further, losing so many hours to the world of AIBU that their kids have walked to Grannies for their dinner. Soon enough they click on a thread that generates so much ire that in their haste to post their objection/opinion they forget that it was written in 1914.

She was what? Please explain how you came to this conclusion?

Contrary to the misguided belief that the word vagina applies to the whole groin area of a woman, it doesn't. The vagina is inside your body. This woman in the ad didn't have her pants off and wasn't spreading her labia open with her fingers in order to photocopy her actual vagina was she?

She was photocopying her pants as she still had them on!

good lord get a grip woman.

rushofbloodtothefeet · 19/09/2011 22:30

I think they get bumped because someone Googles - which drops them straight into an interesting thread and they don't notice the date.
