Probably only a night time advert - japanese office worker (male) stumbles upon woman (presumably secretary) photocopying her vagina (straddling photocopier) followed by image of long thin biscuit being coated in chocolate (phallic/sex image?) and the tagline 'more than a little bit tempting' - Is it just me, or is that really sexist and gross?

i've always been pissed off by that diet coke ad where the woman grabbs a passing man and snogs him

if the roles were reveresed in that ad it would be portraying sexual assault but because it a woman it's supposed to be sexy

if the roles were reversed in this ad it would be just as funny so am failing to see the sexist angle at all tbh.

PinkTulips · 20/04/2009 12:04

it's not an upskirt fetich though, the man catches her trying to steal biscuits but from the angles it looks like she gets her kicks photcopying her bum and he's horrified.

it's like that mr.bean film where he tries to blowdry the crotch of his pants when they get splashed with water and it ends up looking like he's humping the drier when someone walks in... not a fetish, a 'caught in a compromisng but unintended position' moment.

I thought it was awful as well... it is sexist and demeaning... is this really the best the ad agency could think of to sell biscuits?

I also think its questionable as to why they make the woman look so very young.

I thought this advert was just moronic.

It's set in Japan too where sexual harassment at work (seku hara as it's known, I kid you not) is really quite prevalent.

IneedAbetterNickname · 20/04/2009 12:11

I can turn the shutter sound off on my camera phone, I've never had a phone where I couldn't.

I think it is using the upskirt thing to sell biscuits. I think it is tasteless and inappropriate. But I wouldn't bother complaining.

I complained about that car advert where the engineer beats himself up in a matrix style fight scene as it was way too violent for tea time. Other people must have agreed with me as they took it off the air.

I am a lot more bothered by violence than sex. I would rather see condom adverts than office perv adverts though.

IneedAbetterNickname · 20/04/2009 12:22

Well that would be why then sprogger, was just that wannaBe said it was all phones which confused me!

ElenorRigby · 20/04/2009 12:46

First ad in ages that made me laugh out loud! Loved it, was not in the least offended.

Eve4Walle · 20/04/2009 12:49

Have no feelings either way, but she won't have been copying her fanjo because I just assumed she'd be wearing knickers. Never thought she might not be TBH.

muppetgirl · 20/04/2009 12:51

we thought it very funny here...

now the governments' ad on 'me size portions' gets my goat everytime....

ABetaDad · 20/04/2009 15:12

wem/PinkTulips - now don't even get me started on the way men are portrayed a leering, gurning, jibbering, useless idiots in so many adverts.

The other thing is how advertisers seem to think that if you stick an attractive woman in an advert you can sell things to blokes. Look at shaver adverts - there is always a woman stroking the blokes stubbly face at the end. I honestly think they may as well stick a tagline on the end saying:

"If you buy our 6 bladed razor you will get 3 times as many women as a bloke with a 2 bladed razor".

How stupid do they think us blokes are?.

PinkTulips · 20/04/2009 15:18

ahhh, but the lynx ads have to take the award for 'biggest presumption of male gullabillity (is that a word?)'

seriously, do some men actually believe there's a single woman on the planet who smells lynx and thinks 'mmmm, i'd ride him' ???????

'mmmmm... chav' maybe

southeastastra · 20/04/2009 15:33

nice i'll tell that to my ds(15) who likes a bit of lynx

PinkTulips · 20/04/2009 17:57

yes SEA... it's your maternal duty to tell you ds that some random stranger on the internet made a tongue in cheek comment about lynx smelling chavvy

southeastastra · 20/04/2009 18:02

right back at ya

I admit to wearing Blue Stratos to attract women - but that was a very long time ago.

PinkTulips · 20/04/2009 21:07

i had an ex who wore blue stratos.... whenever i smell it on the street i look around expecting to see him

ABetaDad · 20/04/2009 21:21

Erm ... was your ex very current about 28 years ago? [worried emoticon]

PinkTulips · 20/04/2009 21:29
