To not want to leave my expensive pushchair in baby clinic waiting area.

I don't have a car and live within walking distance of the baby clinic. I use my pushchair to take baby to clinic, it's only small, but was told "they don't allow" pushchairs in the baby clinic and I'd have to leave in the waiting room of the doctors surgery.
I don't want to leave my pushchair in the waiting area as I won't be able to see it and it may get stolen. I also don't want to buy a sling as I won't use it enough to justify.
I didn't go to the clinic that day as I didn't want to risk the pushchair (area is okay, but I worry) or argue my case in front of the other parents who didn't seem to mind.

YABU - None of the rest of us in the Waiting Room clinic are interested in your stupid overpriced buggy. Get over yourself.

So you are more concerned about your buggy than your baby. That is most odd.
Are you ok? How do you feal in yourself?

ThingOne · 15/04/2009 22:58

Your baby's clearly still small but it will really hamper your activities if you won't ever leave your buggy and you won't get a sling. There are plenty of places where too many buggies are a problem, and it's far better for the babies at the clinic to crawl around the floor without having to negotiate muddy and dog-poo encrusted buggies.

I've never heard of buggy theft but I live in a small town.

I'd suggest going for a few country walks and getting it mud splashed so it's less attractive to others!

If OP has to walk to the clinic why shouldn't she have a decent buggy to push I think YANBU. None of the clinics round here ask you to do that and IMHO the building is not sutiable for purpose if you can't take a pram in. I only had a Mothercare one but it was worth a fortune to me. Is there another clinic you can go to? There are 3/4 round here - you don't have to go to your nearest one if another one is better. Also ask HV when the busy quiet time is - they won't worry about the pushchair if you are the last one in for instance.
