((at my suggestion BTW, after seeing threads on here about it at times)).

I am sat here, wishing to bang my head on the wall, in hope of being able ti understand the accents of the screaming banshees on right now.

But in fairness you don't "need" to be able to hear anything, as they always have a big programme description running along the screen, don't they? Normally "you're not the father of my baby, so BACK OFF" or some such.

psychomum5 · 10/04/2009 10:44

oh, do they??

this is the second time I have ever had it on.....first time was when flame was here one day and there was a thread on it...sowe tuned in.

not seen the running bar at the bottom....will have to tune in again now to try n catch it

Easy tiger. She isn't a bitch.

APerson · 10/04/2009 12:52

oh and before you give me the 'joke' excuse...it's not F*CKING funny.

Nancy66 · 10/04/2009 12:52

Post isn't offensive at all - yours is though.

FelineFine · 10/04/2009 12:53

yes very good, away and play with your nintendo or your Wii. In fact go out, get some air.

Which post is offensive?

FelineFine · 10/04/2009 12:54

It's a child. Or an adult with "issues", don't feed it.

Although I have to say it is tempting as I am a tad bored.

Portoeufino · 10/04/2009 12:55

APerson, I think you might be a little oversensitive. There are more reasons for subtitles than being deaf, and Pyscho was certainly NOT making fun of deaf people in her post. Stupid chavs, yes. Deaf people, no.

All the programmes I watch have subtitles. In Dutch mostly.

BettySwollux · 10/04/2009 12:58

Aperson, I am also deaf, psycho didnt offend me, fucking chill out!!
Psycho, if youre watching on sky, press the 'help' button, has options for subs (but JK is shite - I enjoyed it when my neighbour was on tho ).

Gorionine · 10/04/2009 12:59

I have subtitles on most of the time for two reasons:
-I do not always want the DCs to actually know about some of the issues I might be interested

-As a foreigner, it does help me when people have an even stronger accent than mine.

FelineFine · 10/04/2009 12:59

Oh Wow your brother was on it?

Do tell more:

BettySwollux · 10/04/2009 13:04

FF, no it was my neighbour's son-in-law.
Turns out he had another kid, and hadnt seen her for donkeys.
Dont usually watch it, but, oh my, word spread right fast through the village that day!
Was very entertaining.

Nancy66 · 10/04/2009 13:05

did he have to take a lie detector test - I think that's the law on JK

BettySwollux · 10/04/2009 13:06

No, he freely admitted he was the girl's dad, was quite emotional.

chocolateismyonlyweakness · 10/04/2009 13:07

APerson, sorry you're offended. Sensitive issue for you.

For lay-in telly I prefer Matthew Wright!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 10/04/2009 13:19

Nancy66 - You forgot to preface the words 'lie-detector test' with the words 'all-important'.... the same has to be applied to 'DNA test'....

JK is a jumpy little-frog of a man, but makes hilarious viewing...

FelineFine · 10/04/2009 13:19

I haven't seen anyone it from around here but there are a lot of people who sound like they may come from these parts.

I cannot watch it. I find it depressing. I have issues.

FelineFine · 10/04/2009 13:20

Even though it is "live on National Television" he likes to say that does JK.

cheshirekitty · 10/04/2009 13:25

My pils always had trouble with Rab C Nesbitt when it was on TV.

Psycho, are you ok? I am partially deaf, and your post did not upset me one bit.

psychomum5 · 10/04/2009 15:10

oh dear, did I upset sommeone??

have been out for lunch with DH and the children........no idea at all what the deleted post is all about.....assuming someone has called me names tho

I mean no offence, and truly am at a loss as to who has taken offence. what on earth have I said??

OP posts:
EightiesChick · 10/04/2009 17:35

Haven't read the deleted post, but to add to what some others have said about subtitle use..I'm using subtitles a lot now because it means I can watch something while DS is screaming so loud with colic that I can't hear a thing other than that. Plus they are useful for programmes like ER where specialist language is used and you csn't essily work out what it is they've said - granted I still don't know what a chem 7 is but at least I know that they've said 'chem 7'.

QuantitativeMeasure · 10/04/2009 17:37

psycho- your title should read,

Jeremy Kyle needs shooting
