((at my suggestion BTW, after seeing threads on here about it at times)).

Pyscho - a troll someone posted to the effect that you were taking the piss out of deaf people by mentioning subtitles in your OP....

Portoeufino · 10/04/2009 19:31

And that you should be GRATEFUL to actually HEAR people taling bolleaux on JK....

chegirl · 10/04/2009 19:56

I always have subtitles on because I cant hear a bloody thing with all the noise in my house.

I specially have them on when JK is on because I often dry my hair at that time and cannot bear to miss a single word.

This morning's JK was not one of his finest. I prefer it when he gets all stern with some scummer. I love it when he shouts at them and they just 'am I bovvered' at him. He immediately backs off and talks to someone else. His brand of bollox tough love only really works on the weak. Its great when he meets a total hardcore

I know I shouldnt but I lurrve JK. It makes me feel so much better about my life. I fully expect a phone call one day asking us to go head to head with DS2 birth mum. I think I will decline but I cant be sure.

psychomum5 · 10/04/2009 20:27

QuantitativeMeasure..............altho, might I then have got flamed for that

Portoeufino..............erm, really.......I offended a deaf person by asking for subtitles? oh....................aren;t subtitles there for language conversion too, and I know for a fact that american audiences often need english speaking and accented films subtitled (ie, trainspotter).

so, di I get called names........never gotten called names before on MN....

chegirl, JK is certainly an education

lol @ JK meets a hardcore! is that different to when he meets a hard whore?

chegirl · 10/04/2009 20:43

Snort at hard whore.

In times of strife and stress JK can always be relied on to make me feel 'thank feck I am me and not them'

Thats what people usually say about ME. Its nice to feel superior once a day for 55 mins

Portoeufino · 10/04/2009 20:47

Well they've gone now anyway.... In Belgium, they have the good stuff on - ER, CSI, Touch of Frost (I know I am desperate) etc etc. On the french channels it is dubbed into French, on the Dutch ones it is original version with Dutch subtitles. Guess which channels we watch> . I'm very sad to say there is no JK!

cupofteaplease · 10/04/2009 20:50

Do you know what I cannot stand? That damn cheeky cheeky cheeky bingo advert- my ears!

But back to the matter in hand- I too needed subtitles today with the Scottish family, I genuinely could not understand a word, as they were so animated. No offence to any Scottish MNers, of course!

But JK in general is actually quite addictive. I love/hate the way he bellows at his guest, 'you madam, are a disgrace!', 'put something on the end of it', 'who's paying for your child? You? No! Me- and every other tax payer in here!' and other such sanctimonious claptrap. Love it.

psychomum5 · 10/04/2009 20:54

yes, it was the scottish famiy today........altho TBF, it was only the blonde girl that I had issues with as in part she was so high pitched and of course, half kept getting bleeped out!!!

I have to say, (with regards to swearing in general).....do people not have more pride in themselves?? I mean, surely you can be far more cutting in an arguement if you use 'big words'......not least because you can confuse the hell out of someone far less educated that way

OP posts:
chegirl · 10/04/2009 21:01

I love the way they come storming out and all pointy at the person in the chair. Then they talk a load of old crap because they dont really have much to say.

And no matter what he/she has done they are always a great mum/dad. Compared to who? Karen Matthews?

The way every woman who has ever been on the show nearly died whilst in labour.

psychomum SNORT - Pride? are you sure? On Jeremy Kyle. Bless.

psychomum5 · 10/04/2009 21:02

hmm.....yes, point taken.

if they had pride, they really would not be on JK would they

OP posts:
chegirl · 10/04/2009 21:17

Ah ha! But maybe they take great pride at being ON JK?

Who knows. If it wasnt for DS2's birth mum I wouldnt believe these people actually existed at all. But they DO.

psychomum5 · 10/04/2009 21:41

once upon a time, if JK had been around when I were a lass(()), I bet my mother would also be on JK!!!

OP posts:
verygreenlawn · 11/04/2009 00:18

Dh and I tried to watch 8 Mile (Eminem film) without subtitles and failed miserably. We put the subtitles on and actually realised that for every 30 seconds of dialogue there was just a single line of subtitles (usually involving the phrase "motherf*er"). So subtitles are not just for the hard of hearing, they can also be helpful for the terminally uncool .

FelineFine · 12/04/2009 12:25

Subtilites for us Scottish People? ?

Yes I agree, we talk very fast, my mother is a Londoner and her mother (nan) used always tell me to "slow down dear, I have no idea what you are saying"!

I also type like I talk. That's why on my thread with M and Tnog etc I always post 3 posts to their one.

Anyway.......sun beckoning happy easter. I am unsure if JK will be on this week due to easter holidays [punching air emoticon]. I plan to be sleeping at that time of each day.
