to still feel a tiny bit hacked off that I was found lacking by a certain "rival" website?

I have my suspicions what the reasons were for my rejection but won't go into them because I don't want to disclose who I am.

And yes I do know for a fact that I was vetoed, not "accidentally left out".

OP posts:
MrsMattie · 31/03/2009 22:38

OK, OK, time out ladies

Let's just all agree to disagree on the fishy one.

Nobody has answered my Q re: the other defectors. Who were they?

Who are the Moldies?

JaquelinehydeAllTheEggs · 31/03/2009 22:39

Don't get your knickers in a twist aitch cod has never needed a cheering squad.

I'm not being downright nasty just stating a fact. Cod once stated on a very emotional thread about weight if you don't want to be fat then stop eating cake it's very simple. That is damn nasty in my opinion.

I'm sorry if we don't agree about that but as I said before I agree she was also a lot of fun.

right back at ya

AitchTwoOh · 31/03/2009 22:42

we don't have to agree to disagree, we just have to show some manners and not slag off someone who cannot stick up for themselves because if they were on here and revealed their identity they might tip off the same bunch of weirdos who threatened their family.

anyhoo. lapin went, but not in a huff so much as in an effort to go cold turkey and get some work done. twig left, deffo.

AitchTwoOh · 31/03/2009 22:43

if you don't want to be fat then stop eating cake, it's very simple.

TheCrackFox · 31/03/2009 22:43

Mrs M. I too have no idea who the Mouldies are. I noticed Martian Bishop and Little Lapin had gone but not sure if they went over to the dark side.

Don't miss anyone really.

Quite liked Cod.

MrsMattie · 31/03/2009 22:44

Weeeellll...not getting into a barney about it. Certainly don't condone weirdo stalkers!

Oh yeh, lapin and twig. Blimey. Seems like they've been gone for ages.

Did VictorianSqualor go? Haven't seen her for ages.

ScottishThistle · 31/03/2009 22:44

Ha, I remember the fat/cake post ~ funny how some things stick in your head for ages.

Count to ten ladies, Cod will be lovin' this if she's lurking!!!

AitchTwoOh · 31/03/2009 22:48

i hope not, i love VS. i think MB had a pretty horrible thread on here and left soon after, so yes i think it's reasonable to assume she's on Moldies now.

i'm going to look for the life-cycle of the forum, thing, it's hilarious.

ScottishMummy · 31/03/2009 22:48

this retrospective veneration of cod is funny.

she was often funny but i also recall her as irascible and frequently tactless just for the fun of it. like the time she piled into the bereaved mum threads

but she did have the codettes who always piped in for her if anyone dared deviate

dreadful, however that someone crossed the line from MN words on a screen to RL

TheCrackFox · 31/03/2009 22:48

Did SheikyerBouti leave? She was quite funny.

JaquelinehydeAllTheEggs · 31/03/2009 22:48

parp parp parpitty parp

some people are just mean, some rude, some think they are above everyone else and some don't realise that I knew a 14 year old girl who hung herself because she was being taunted because she was fat and should eat less cake

Did LadyTopamHat [sp] go?

edam · 31/03/2009 22:53

No, it's if you don't want to get fat in the first place stop eating cake. Once you've become fat, you are buggered. All the evidence is that diets ultimately fail - even if you do manage to lose weight, very, very, very few people manage to keep it off long term. Most put it all back on with a bit extra on top as well (partly because - very roughly - your metabolism changes. Evolution means your body is programmed to respond to restricted intakes of nutrients by going 'oh shit, famine' and getting BETTER at piling on fat.

Depressing but true. It's MUCH harder to lose weight permanently than it is just not to eat too much in the first place.

Wish I'd known this when I was 18 and a size 10...

AitchTwoOh · 31/03/2009 22:55

well of COURSE she was tactless for the fun of it, because it used to be the case that people had a sense of humour on here and wouldn't have a fit of the vapours if someone took the piss.

and how the FUCK is anyone supposed to legislate for the fact that you know someone who killed herself? ye gods. eat less cake is GOOD advice, weight is just calories in, calories out. if a fourteen year old kills herself there are a bunch of people around her responsible for that, not just some kid in a playground. not to mention the fact that this is mumsnet, not kidsnet.

JaquelinehydeAllTheEggs · 31/03/2009 22:55

Me also Edam

Ronaldinhio · 31/03/2009 22:56

stop eating cake...it'll only end in tears

lou33 · 31/03/2009 22:57

eve is the matriach of mn, i am the second in line so far

i will prepare my commode

Ronaldinhio · 31/03/2009 22:57

and a fat arse

TheCrackFox · 31/03/2009 22:58

Cake, mmmmm, drool.

Just be like the French and only eat teeny, tiny bits of cake. And, oh, smoke like a fucker and drink 4 gallons of coffee a day.

FairLadyRantALot · 31/03/2009 22:59

well...there is funny and there is funny...and well....sense of humour is not exact science....so....hmm...don't think I personally have a sense of humour failure just because I personally didn't find cod funny...

MrsMattie · 31/03/2009 22:59

Aitch, cod had loads of criticism when she was here. It's no biggie, really, is it? A few people saying they thought she was rude sometimes isn't the same as weirdy stalking and threatening her family. Nobody condones that.

edam · 31/03/2009 23:01

I would stop eating cake if only the PTA would stop having cake sales just as ds is coming out of school. He badgers me and I don't have the strength to march past shouting "NO, CAKE IS EVIL, BEGONE YOU FOUL PURVEYORS OF TEMPTATION". Oddly enough.

ScottishThistle · 31/03/2009 23:01

Not worth bickering about ladies!

Taking my size 10 ass off to the Bakers, don't want an invitation from any Moldies!

AitchTwoOh · 31/03/2009 23:03

i think if she was able to defend herself i'd agree with you, mrsmattie. that's the difference imo.

JaquelinehydeAllTheEggs · 31/03/2009 23:04

Aitch is this you or an imposter. You're usually quite reasonable.

It's not about knowing the ins and outs of each others lives, or being all softly softly because as you say this is Mumsnet, and we are vipers lets not forget. It is however, about common decency and when you lose that you lose any respect you may have had.

That in my opinion goes for all posters old, new and inbetween. Other opinions will follow I'm sure.

Ronaldinhio · 31/03/2009 23:07

that was almost oddly cyptic poetic
