to still feel a tiny bit hacked off that I was found lacking by a certain "rival" website?

I have my suspicions what the reasons were for my rejection but won't go into them because I don't want to disclose who I am.

And yes I do know for a fact that I was vetoed, not "accidentally left out".

My mum lived on a farm during the war - they had eggs, cream, milk, meat, the works. then they took in an evacuee whose parents owned a sweet factory, and so got sent lots and lots and lots of parcels of sweets.

So she could never pull the "in the war you had to clean your plate and be grateful" malarkey on us...

hullygully · 01/04/2009 10:56

Hab, did your mother find she reached unfeasibly large proprtions on that diet? I suspect she too would have been excluded from Moldies.

hully, don't delude yourself - it was all about your taste in interior decor, and nothing to do with your silicone implants.

Buda · 01/04/2009 11:01

hully

TheCrackFox · 01/04/2009 11:01

How did Moldies work during WWII? Was it all done by telegram?

They certainly wouldn't have had to worry about the "school run dress saga" as according to the old folks round my way children always walked themselves to school.

Habbibu · 01/04/2009 11:02

"Was it all done by telegram?" specially trained pigeons, I believe.

Threadworm · 01/04/2009 11:03

During the war, mumsnet was operated by Land Army girls doing semaphore.

TheCrackFox · 01/04/2009 11:05

snort

Kathyis6incheshigh · 01/04/2009 11:06

Apparently the Enigma team at Bletchley Park wasted months trying to decipher Cod's posts.

FannyWaglour · 01/04/2009 11:07

This reminds me a little of religion.

I have seen the light/evidence of divinity on earth. (Cod)
He lives among us (she posts among us)

Havent you lot better things to do than CodSpotting?

Threadworm · 01/04/2009 11:07

And when they did decipher it, it turned out to be some tosh about a 'bombing raid frock'.

hullygully · 01/04/2009 11:12

Hab- It never was me interior wotsit. And send Pablo back, haven't you wrung the last juices from his strong manly frame? He has nothing left to give.

AitchTwoOh · 01/04/2009 11:13

moldies weight limit? you are quite mad.

hullygully · 01/04/2009 11:13

I taught Cod everything she knew - but I could never shake that fat prejudice. It is a source of continuing sadness and discomfort.

hullygully · 01/04/2009 11:15

ATO I assure you there IS a weight limit - and there is something about footwear but I SWORE I wouldn't tell that one (the weight thing was hardly a secret, was it?).

FannyWaglour · 01/04/2009 11:18

I think they have to be able to squeeze through a key hole in their initiation ritual.

Or was it climb into the computers reset button? I cant remember.

OrmIrian · 01/04/2009 11:20

Anyone remember UKParents? used to be a regular there. That had a tendency to tickerise and spangle things. But it was OK.

There were many spats and coups there. Breakaway movement started HunnyBees I think which was much more cute and sparkly. And another called something else that was less so.

FannyWaglour · 01/04/2009 11:21

Is it not actually a little rude to discuss posters who are not here on the thread in this manner?

I find it a little lacking in respect.
Accusing somebody of having a "fat prejudice" is a little dont you think?

For posters like I, who never experienced the COd, I find it very odd.

Jux · 01/04/2009 11:21

My only claim to fame is that I once made cod laugh and then she said my dh was cool! I felt smug for, ooooh, quite a long time.

hullygully · 01/04/2009 11:22

FW - Fat was the least of it...did you never see the thread on freckles, moles and skin tags?

SoupDreggon · 01/04/2009 11:24
Hmm
FannyWaglour · 01/04/2009 11:26

erm, no, but the point is rather, she isnt HERE.

Isnt the policy here on mumsnet to bring any grievances against a poster up on the thread in question, not start separate threads?

The way I see it here, is that people pile in bashing a poster who has in fact left, and isnt here.

Should one not expect the same courtesy?

And if she IS here, and post under a different name, dont you think this is rather backhanded and bully-ish?

Idranktheeasterspirits · 01/04/2009 11:30

PMSL @hullygully.

And PMSL at all those taking her seriously.

fembear · 01/04/2009 11:30

No one is stopping Cod from defending herself. We do not exclude posters (unlike certain other sites that I could mention ...)
