I lurk far more than I post, gnerally because somebody has usually said what I wanted to, so I don't want to just echo it. I have noticed though, that even after a string of helpful replies saying much the same thing, it only takes one "celebrity" MNer to join a thread and parrot the previous posts, albeit in their own style, and then you get a rash of "Oh, good point, CelebrityMNer, fantastic post!" replies. It pisses me off just reading it, so I can only imagine how irritating it must be for the posters who had said much the same thing hours ago.

Does anyone else notice this, or AIBU?

Yanbu - it certainly happens.

But then you're either "peed off" by it, per thread title, or "not all aerated (sp?)" about it, per your later post.

Make your mind up duck! .

BitOfFun · 29/03/2009 12:41

independiente · 29/03/2009 12:49

Was that to me? I hope so - I am a virgin...

Simnelbellavita · 29/03/2009 12:53

I wondered too who the was directed at...

pagwatch · 29/03/2009 12:54

I am not a celebrity but people wade in and agree with me because I am charming in an understated way.
its all about the humility. My people love that about me.

Maybe the "sleb" MNers feel confident enough to post more forcibly and put their points more bluntly which makes less confident posters come out of the woodwork and agree with them.

TBH I haven't noticed it happening though.

I am far too self absorbed

cornsilk · 29/03/2009 13:21

I've only joined the thread to bask in the company of celebs.

JazzHands · 29/03/2009 13:23

You shouldn't speak until spoken to cornsilk

HecatesTwopenceworth · 29/03/2009 13:23

Yeah, I think it does happen, but I don't think it's personal. We all get overlooked sometimes and are left screaming at the screen "BUT I JUST SAID THAT!!" but it's not really fair to blame the posters who are named, is it? What have they done wrong? Should they stop posting? And so what if someone wants to single out a reply, although many may be saying the same sort of thing, perhaps one is put in a particuarly good way, or word for word what the other person wanted to say? Or maybe they're mates I think it's really cruel to bitch about someone just because you feel other people like them. They haven't done anything to you, have they?

cornsilk · 29/03/2009 13:25

Ah you've spoken to me now though Jazz hands!

cornsilk · 29/03/2009 13:25

(Licks the screen)

KimiWantsAnEasterEgg · 29/03/2009 13:26

So who are the top 10 cele mumsnetters?

JazzHands · 29/03/2009 13:29

Ha ha yes!

But I am not a sleb.

I am not even a gimp of a sleb.

I am not even fit to lick their backsides.

I am still in the position of having to prostate myself on the floor when one passes by

Who are the sleb Mners anyway?

Ones that post a lot or ones that talk sense (ie I agree with)? Not always the same ones IME...

HecatesTwopenceworth · 29/03/2009 13:32

There is no universal Top Ten! Come on! I bet every poster can come up with 10 mners they think are great and I bet every one of those lists will be 10 different names!
