Basically i got caught out without enough nappies today.
Teething etc lot's of soiled nappys.
I ask at the till if they can provide a nappy and am told no!
I didn't have the £8.99 for a 24 pack but was a bit surprised tbh.

It's not a bad idea to have an emergency pack in the boot of your car. I have one that contains 2 nappies, Value wipes, tissues, 2 cartons of milk, a bottle and a pouch of Ella's baby food.
There's going to be a time when you have a teething baby and no nappies in your bag or a hungry baby and you're stuck in a massive jam on the motorway...

If pampers can send me free nappies every few months though the post in little single packets and a money off token that in my case dont get used because I forget I have them. Why cant they give a few packets to big shops who sell there nappies like mothercare to keep behind the counter for people who have and for emergency. If they can afford to send me nappies in the post then they can afford to give a few to mothercare its all good PR for pampers.
I got lucky the one day I ran out (my son ate some thing that didnt like him) I had a friend with me who had a bigger nappy that I could strap my son into. Getting court out happens to every one at some point no matter how perpaired you are...
Ikea give you an emergency nappy and they dont even sell them. What harm would it do to help there customers when they really need it.

Of course you aren't being unreasonable - what is the world coming to?

M&S doesn't even give away bloody bananas to mothers who can't calm their kids down without food anymore either!

It's a travesty!

I know, Madame! I'm still thinking of trying violethill's suggestion about going down my local when I need an emergency drink but haven't got a few bob on me.

I mean, it's good PR for them to show their customers that they're there for them, no matter how unprepared they are.

Bulgari is my next one on the list to try!

Went out without any bling and my gawd they refused to let me nip off with half of their stock.

expatinscotland · 31/03/2009 19:14

I'll bet you've spent loads in there, too. Or are a potential customer.

MadameCastafiore · 31/03/2009 19:19

Non - do you think someone who says BLING and GAWD would shop in Bulgari?

my local asda used to have free nappies in the changing room and wipes. After about a month, they stopped. When I went to enquire why, I was told that they had to stop as people were going into the changing room and stealing the lot - even down to thwe bottles of handwash provided.

The problem is, is that a nasty minority of selfish, greedy oiks will always spoil it for everyone else.
