Banner across the top of the cover:

"A nation mourns the loss of its brightest star"

How dare they speak on my behalf?

I'm not mourning and she was certainly not our brightest star!

Who writes this drivel? And who believes it?

No need to take that tone Gunner. I asked a polite question. No I am not going. The funeral is open to all and I thought you were a fan of the late Ms Goody and may have decided to go, I am sure there will be people travelling for miles to get there.

knockedgymnast · 27/03/2009 16:52

I probably won't be popular writing this. But it really affected me. No, I didn't know her and no, I didn't particularly like her. I just found it all really sad and I felt aweful on Sunday........Perhaps I'm too sensitive, hey

Kimi · 27/03/2009 18:02

No knocked that makes you human.

matildax · 27/03/2009 18:13

He is going to sell her dresses and give the money to cancer research,

2shoes · 27/03/2009 18:59

is that before or after he goes to prison?

BecauseImWorthIt · 27/03/2009 19:07

I started this as an OK-bashing thread - not a Jade bashing thread! Can't help it if it ended that way.

"He is going to sell her dresses and give the money to cancer research"

At last! Some money to cancer research!

ScottishMummy · 27/03/2009 19:16

can see this thread going tits up. "competitive sadders" and the jade haters piling in

they love a good argument

funnily enough they presume to speak on other people behalf of other people by declaring it is all media hyperbole

by sniggering and snorting at how some people chose to express themselves about JG death. such lumpen proletariat behaviour is of course beneath them

smallorange · 27/03/2009 19:23

I am a prole but I still don't like being manipulated by the media. I don't like being how told to feel my the media either.

And I don't like someone's death being parceled up and sold to the highest bidder.

I think there are class issues in the way that Jade was treated by the media - she was considered fair game in a way that a posher person wouldn't have been IMHO. But she played up to it as well.

ScottishMummy · 27/03/2009 19:30

well i imagine given the choice would have rather not sold her CA story.and lived a longer life with her sons

but pragmatically facing her mortality and looking over the precipice yes she made the decision that brand goody was selling her impending mortality

to ensure finacial security for her children.

no one compels anyone to buy the media coverage or the associated schlock.

whispywhisp · 27/03/2009 20:02

jajas - there's a big difference between going out for a meal after a funeral and going out for a meal on the day your partner has died.

Not taking any "tone" with you Fimbo. You asked whether I was going to Jade Goody's funeral and I gave you an answer. Anyway, who the feck are you that I shouldn't take a "tone" with you if I feel like it anyway?

I don't know why you should think I was a fan of Jade Goody. Do you necessarily need to be a fan of hers to think it's sad that a 27 year old mother has died needlessly and left 2 small children without a mother, or to think it's sick that there are idiots who would suggest that someone who has advanced cancer and is clearly days from death is faking it?

2shoes · 27/03/2009 22:31

Gunnerbean that was done to death on another thread.

Joe1977 · 27/03/2009 22:32

I'll second Rhubarb!

katiestar · 28/03/2009 00:06

I wonder if she is waiting to be reincarnated as an old lady as she said was her wish ? Classic Goody !

whispywhisp · 28/03/2009 09:18

jajas - sorry to disagree but going out for a meal with a few beers with your mates ON the day your wife has died just looks incredibly insensitive...especially considering the fact Jade and Jack were heavily in the public eye and he chose to have his meal with his mates in a public restaurant....FGS do it in private so to not get photographed and placed in a national newspaper!

When we had my Dad's funeral we also had a wake and yes we all enjoyed having a chat/laugh with something to eat and drink....but that was 2 weeks after he died, not on the day he died.

And I agree...a funeral is 'hardly a bundle of laughs'....

Gunnerbean. This was not a thread about Jade. It was a thread about OK magazine.

But if people want to make their views known about Jade then that is their right.

Why do you have a problem with that?

OP posts:
Gunnerbean · 28/03/2009 22:00

You're right, it wasn't a thread abut Jade Goody at all but people soon turned it into one about her and it quickly became all about "Jade Goody bashing" yet again. YAWN. I just can't see the point, that's all.

smallorange · 28/03/2009 22:03

I thought it was quite interesting...
