i do f-ing work for gods sake!! just cos im a single parent and cant possibly work full time due to my situation and so need housing benefit to help me out with PART of the rent, why am i being turned away for anything decent?
it really pisses me off

No real advice for you but just to say that YANBU and I have been in your shoes - perserve and you will find somewhere....

Ask the council for a list of "HB friendly" landlords - my local council have a long list of landlords who will take DSS as it helps the council out if you can rent privately so they don't have to find you a council house (if thats what you wanted.)

Your time will come - promise - hang in there!

i get a small part of my rent paid by the council as i work but i would have thought that was more reliable for the landlords as it is a guaranteed payment if paid directly to the landlord.as usual it is the minority ruining it for the majority good luck to you

theres no gaurentee ur gonna get your rent from private tennants so why should hb be any different?
