peachy, i am sorry to hear of DS1's issues, at the moment, i hope you get the support you all need

nametaken · 17/03/2009 18:56

"Great argument laweaselmys - I am nuts because I don't believe people should use the state as an alternative to paying for themselves"

But your not paying for yourself londonone. Someone else is paying your mortgage. And you take their money whilst despising them.

HappyMummyOfOne · 17/03/2009 18:56

Lying about claiming HB can have serious consequences for a landlord if his insurance or mortgage does not allow him to take DSS tennants. What if there was a fire and the insurance was valid - its immoral to lie when somebody is trusing you with a large asset.

HB tennants are not being discriminated against by insurers/mortgage companies - its about risk. Insurance companies rate risks all the time, many will not insure young drivers, flash cars etc - this is completely allowed.

HB tennants are alsi far harder to evict and therefore legal costs for a landlord can be horrendous.

Peachy · 17/03/2009 18:57

Thanks Lulu- think we caught it early but still a worrying time.

londonone · 17/03/2009 18:58

faq - temporary means that it should not be permanent and therefore you wouldn't stay in it if you were earning 100000! Got that!

Sorrento - Don't know what your problem is, jealousy perhaps? Yes I am declaring my income, I fill in a tax return etc like anyone else with multiple income streams.

Peachy - I do think disability and ill health are a different kettle of fish and provision should be made for those circumstances.

Sorrento · 17/03/2009 18:59

The fact is guys here we all are fighting amongst ourselves whilst :-

WE ARE ALL BEING ROYALLY SHAFTED FROM ALL ANGLES.

And we're sat here worrying about a few quid being handed out in housing benefit

nametaken · 17/03/2009 19:00

HappyMummyofOne - HB tennants are harder to evict than non-HB tennants - how so?

Sorrento · 17/03/2009 19:00

Londonone - My problem is your disgusting attitude problem.

nametaken · 17/03/2009 19:00

Whhhooooo - I hope you got that FAQ

FAQinglovely · 17/03/2009 19:01

you know what - fuck of Londone - my children (and I) are going to be safe living here - and I really don't give a shit what parasites like you (someone else paying your mortgage for you) think.

I just sincerely hope that you never find yourself in a position to need help from the state, unable to get into social housing (without having to live in a drug infested hotel for an unspecified period of time before you're housed ) and then end up wanting to rent privately.

And I sincerely hope that should you one day find yourself in that position you don't find it as difficult to find somewhere to live, with a landlord that actually gives half a stuff about their tenants in that position.

Lulumama · 17/03/2009 19:01

peachy, my friend's HF ASD daughter who has aspergers also has phases of anorexia type behaviour that seem to be cyclical rather than full blown AN. hope he is ok

FAQinglovely · 17/03/2009 19:02

yeah I "got" that - still doesn't explain someone's ignorant attitude though..............

nametaken · 17/03/2009 19:03

Where did londonone come from anyway, I've never seen her before? Is he/she a troll?

londonone · 17/03/2009 19:06

nametaken - I PAY RENT FOR THE PLACE WHERE I LIVE. I certainly don't despise my tenants, they are great.

Sorrento - Actually Sir Freds 2.7million is actually small beer compared with the billions spent on housing benefit, 4 BILLION just for London!

BTW I do not think Fred Gooodwin should get his money.

Oh shouting now for the hard of reading lol

londonone · 17/03/2009 19:09

faq - no need to swear. I am not a parasite, I pay for the place I live in and I work to pay that rent.

No I am not a troll, yes I do have strong opinions.

FAQinglovely · 17/03/2009 19:09

nametaken - no she's been around a bit - 117 messages from here - but get this - from someone who thinks that people should pay their own way if they're renting privately

"have to admit that I am with the OP on this. I think the idea of nurseries for young babies is awful. TBH I had no idea until recently that people left young babies at nurseries i.e under a year. Given the cost of nurseries I cannot see how it is possibly worth it. It is beyond me how PARENTS (mums and dads as there is no reason dad can't be primary carer)can have a baby and then put the child in a nursery at 6 months so they barely see them. IMO it is wrong and the primary carer for children 18 months and under should be a parent."

  • so there you go - you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't
FAQinglovely · 17/03/2009 19:10

no no no no lockets - I'm talking about one particular person on this thread who has some ermm rather interesting ideas on whether people like myself should be able to live in a safe environment for herself and her children while having HB paid for them

Sorrento · 17/03/2009 19:11

Ah lockets, so your providing a sort of public service then, I didn't think of it like that.

Here was me thinking that you intended for the renter to like pay your mortgage off for you and then like sell it and pocket the difference, is that not how it works ?

yeah - they're great because they work hey londonne - what you gonna do if they lose their job in this recession and starting claiming HB - kick them out because they don't deserve to live there??

londonone · 17/03/2009 19:15

I would have to FAQ it's a condition of my mortgage.

Sorrento - If there was nowhere to rent where would you suggest students, or people who move temporarily live?

Sorry londonone but you're story is inconsistant and riddled with inaccuracies.

One minute you own your property. Next minute you rent it. Next minute you have a normal mortgage, then you have a buy-to-let one.

You're rambling and you sound quite mad.
