southeastastra · 15/03/2009 15:33

sure there was a thread where someone got kicked out of the supermarket for wearing riding gear. or may have imagined it

brimfull · 15/03/2009 15:34

seems to be a pre-requisite for shopping in twatrose

JazzHands · 15/03/2009 15:35

Ugh. Did they have horse shit all up them?

Or was it chris eubank?

stuffitllama · 15/03/2009 15:47

stuffitllama · 15/03/2009 15:49

it's a free country and they are probably nice enough people
and so on

but yes they should still be be flattened with those tonne weights you see in cartoons

MrsMcCluskey · 15/03/2009 15:50

someone got kicked out of tescos for wearing riding boots, cos they were covered in horse shite.
In Waitrose they are prob used to it!

NotPlayingAnyMore · 15/03/2009 15:54

My school run is over a muddy field but I don't wear my wellies because I know I'll know I'll look like a poser in Waitrose afterwards

ridingjoker · 15/03/2009 15:57

yabu - what do you want them to do. take a seperate change of clothes just so they dont upset you.

perhaps they didn't like your twin set.

understand if they had their shit covered wellies on. but they would have changed their shoes to drive there as they wouldn;t want shit in footwells of car i'd guess.

Nabster · 15/03/2009 16:00

why twatrose ?

RustyBear · 15/03/2009 16:03

There was one in my Waitrose yesterday in purple jodhpurs. I have obviously led a sheltered life because I have never seen purple jodhpurs before.

IotasCat · 15/03/2009 16:03

I have no problem with clean jodphurs but wouldn't like it if they stunk of horses as it would set off my asthma

ridingjoker · 15/03/2009 16:04

whats the difference between someone who stinks of dogs?? plenty of those but you wouldn't march them out of waitrose?

raisingrrrl · 15/03/2009 16:05

Shop in Asda - you never get people in shit-covered jodhs there. Shit covered trackie bottoms, now that's a different thread entirely!

IotasCat · 15/03/2009 16:09

TBH I have never noticed people stinking of dogs but horses have a much stronger smell. Don't get me wrong I like horses and rode a little when I was younger, but since I developed asthma in my mid 30s I have to keep my distance.

thumbwitch · 15/03/2009 16:10

personally I would have less problem with them wearing jodhs if they did smell of horses - at least they would have a proper reason for wearing them. Can't stand seeing them worn as a "fashion" item.

raisingrrrl · 15/03/2009 16:11

People wear jodhpurs as a fashion item?

ridingjoker · 15/03/2009 16:12

i notice dogs/cats and damp on people. all i dislike. also bet when you had lo's you were in the store stinking of baby sick and poo(especially when they decide to leak onto there clothes in supermarket as they all do

yeah, i may occasionally have to pop in a store on my way home and i'll stink of horse.

but the shit covered shoes are left at yard and changed to keep car free of shit.

just because you dislike the smell of something doesn't mean you should be banned from the store unless you go home for change/wash

IotasCat · 15/03/2009 16:12

Actually that reminds me that I did once have to spend the day in a car with a colleague who used to take his dog out with him all the time and his car really stank of dog. The dog used to sit in the front passenger seat so it was covered in hair and smelt a lot.

brimfull · 15/03/2009 16:18

ridingjoker-tis not the smell that offends me it's their ponciness. Not a smudge of shit on them. They are a type.

I have nowt against waitrose,my dd works there.Blimey she sees all manner of ponces.

OP posts:
brimfull · 15/03/2009 16:20

they probably don't even go riding, waltz around town on a sunday in their jods ..lol

OP posts:
ridingjoker · 15/03/2009 16:25

you get things called chaps. waterproof type of trousers that cover jodpurs to keep your jodpurs dry and clean. they are a must in this weather. you take them off with your boots/wellies and leave them at yard too.

HecatesTwopenceworth · 15/03/2009 16:37

I don't understand why it matters what someone wears. Who cares if they're out there, minding their own business, in jodphurs, or tracksuits, or a ballgown and a pair of flippers? (or am I missing the point?)
