Pedestrians really should stay off the bloody roads - what do they think pavements are for eh?

70??? 70??? Are you on a go slow
IMHO pedestrians should stay off pavements as well!

GrimmaTheNome · 05/03/2009 14:02

Pavements are for parking cars on (especially 4x4s), obviously. Well, they are in our village.

OrmIrian · 05/03/2009 14:03

Tsk! What do people want to walk for? When we have cars.

Rhubarb · 05/03/2009 14:04

I had a bloody mark on my bull-bars last time I hit a pedestrian. Bloody irresponsible they are!

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 05/03/2009 14:04

What are 'pedestrians'? Is it a word for the carless?

I'd just run them down and put them out of their wheel-less misery, it a kindness really.

BouncingTurtle · 05/03/2009 14:04

You bored or something Rhubabrb?

No YANBU. And you should take up 3 spaces when you are parked, try to make sure one of them is a disabled one and one is a P&T space

nametaken · 05/03/2009 14:05

oh just do what I do and mow the pesky blighters down.

Rhubarb · 05/03/2009 14:06

Oh I parked in a disabled bay last week, there was someone in a wheelchair there but by the time I'd parked, I couldn't see them anywhere.......funny that.

Salleroo · 05/03/2009 14:09

I'm hoping you are all keeping score. You get 1 point for an old person as they cant move as fast. 2 points for your common or garden pedestrian and 5 points if you can knock a cyclist off a bike while causing minimal damage to the bike. I believe you can use these points for rewards at tesco etc. Waitrose haven't come on board yet but it's in the pipeline

I always ensure I drive a 4X4 for the school run, it is a five minute walk, there's always space on the zigzags for me to park... and if I time it right the lollipop man gets out of the way just in time for me to remind him to f%** off as I own the road.

OrmIrian · 05/03/2009 14:14

On the subject of school runs and chevrons... DCs and I were crossing the road to the school this morning and walked across the chevrons. We held up a driver who was wanting to park on them. He beeped at us. I was so embarrassed. How could I have been so inconsiderate ? Such a bad example to all the children present....

GrimmaTheNome · 05/03/2009 14:14

Divine...how do you know its a five minute walk?

Rhubarb · 05/03/2009 14:15

I hope you apologised to that poor driver! He was very considerate actually, I would have just mown you down and collected my points!

YABU Pavements are not for pedestrians, that's where anything with wheels that goes less the 50mph should be.

coppertop · 05/03/2009 14:17

Rhubarb - I hope you sued that pedestrian for dirtying your car. The cheek of those people!

OrmIrian · 05/03/2009 14:17

Pavements are for parking. Because clearly your parked vehicle is in much more danger from other cars than soft people.

warthog · 05/03/2009 14:18

just paint your car a dark red and then you don't have to keep getting it cleaned. or buy a dog. they can lick it for you.

coppertop · 05/03/2009 14:19

Or pay a pedestrian to lick the car for you. That way they can save up for a car of their own and everyone's happy.

GrimmaTheNome · 05/03/2009 14:21

I wouldn't advise buying a dog to clean your car. They have this strange fondness for (looks round nervously and whispers) walking.

Rhubarb · 05/03/2009 14:22

Well I did run over this little old lady once, I stopped and asked her very politely if she would mind cleaning all the blood off the front of the car, but she just lay there and moaned at me!

OP posts:
warthog · 05/03/2009 14:24

the elderly. so bloody unhelpful. drawing their pensions and expecting you to grovel at their feet. she should have been grateful that you knocked her over. save her from trying to sit down herself.

Gorionine · 05/03/2009 14:32

Hello, my name is Gorionine and I am a pedestrian. I have been trying to stop for ages but always end up on my two feet. I feel so asahmed and so lonely.

Rhubarb · 05/03/2009 14:33

STONE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
Divineintervention · 05/03/2009 14:34

How often do you walk?

GrimmaTheNome · 05/03/2009 14:34

Gorionine - tell Rhubarb whereabouts you live and you will end up off your two feet for sure. She'll be happy to help. She might even leave you with less than two feet if her aim is good.
