to refuse to make dh a cup of tea

myfunnynametaken · 01/03/2009 21:45

My dh has just asked me to make him a cup of tea.

I reminded him that I made the last cup for both of us. He said that prior to this, he had made 2 cups of tea, so now I have to.

AIBU to think that regardless of how many cups of tea he made before, if I made the last cup, it's not my turn now.

Sounds like you two needs a visit to a marriage counselor.

rookiemater · 01/03/2009 21:48

YANBU. I feel divorce would be your only option. That or decapitation.

myfunnynametaken · 01/03/2009 21:48

Do you think I've got grounds for divorce?

I'm afraid I'm with the dh on this. You need to make 2 in a row to match his 2 in a row.

Sails · 01/03/2009 21:50

If thats all you've got going on in your life to argue about I think you must have a good life! Slopes off quitely as I am feeling grumpy and down and perhaps should not be taking it out on others even if not in rl!

rookiemater · 01/03/2009 21:51

Depends if the tea includes biscuits or not.

SerendipitousHarlot · 01/03/2009 21:51

Yes! He made 2, stump up and make your 2!

Sails · 01/03/2009 21:52

yabu btw but I'd prefer a hot chocolate this time of night!

myfunnynametaken · 01/03/2009 21:52

Aawwwwwwwwww Sails, here you go, have a virtual cup of tea!

OP posts:
BigGitDad · 01/03/2009 21:52

Can you make me one too whilst yuo are at it? Milk no sugar please...

myfunnynametaken · 01/03/2009 21:53

Depends BigGitDad - who made the last one in your house eh?

OP posts:
Sails · 01/03/2009 21:54

Thanks that was lovely just how I like it!

BigGitDad · 01/03/2009 21:55

It's always me as Mrs BGD does not drink tea. Also as she has no idea how it tastes when she does make it, it tastes bloody awful!

AnyFucker · 01/03/2009 21:57

tell him if you make him a cup of tea, he forgoes a blow job

see what he says to that

myfunnynametaken · 01/03/2009 21:57

Here you go then have a nice cup of tea.

YABU

It is your turn.

Could you a board up in the kitchen so that you don't lose count? And you must of course figure in the bonus points if a biscuit is offered. 2 extra points for bourbon biscuits and 3 for a penguin.

myfunnynametaken · 01/03/2009 21:58
  • AnyFucker - the only thing going in my mouth tonight is tea.

"Do you think I've got grounds for divorce?"

Grounds are for coffee. Maybe you've got leaves for divorce.

BOOM BOOM

myfunnynametaken · 01/03/2009 22:00

I am LOVING the board idea - only thing is, my dh is so devious, he'll probably add a sneaky extra tick under his name in the hope that I won't notice.

rookiemater · 01/03/2009 22:02

Tee hee weebump.

Well I thought it was funny.

PlumpRumpSoggyBaps · 01/03/2009 22:13

Me too weebump.

Re the board myfunnyname- you need to buy a special pen, maybe with glitter in, to put up the ticks. And keep it with you at ALL TIMES. Then any cheating will be obvious and further grounds for divorce.

That should put an end to his malarkey.

MmeLindt · 01/03/2009 22:19

Oh, yes. Keep the special glittery board marker in your bra so that he cannot cheat.

I was thinking of sticker actually, you could hide them too. these ones would be good, then you could keep track of scones and jam too.

RachieW · 01/03/2009 22:19

Think yourself lucky, my dh doesn't drink tea so never makes me one. In fact his offer of a drink goes like this "Do you want a drink... a COLD one".

2rebecca · 01/03/2009 22:32

I only make cups of tea/coffee if I want one myself, same for my husband. If one of us wants a drink they usually make it. If your husband asked for the tea he has to make it according to my rules.

2rebecca · 01/03/2009 22:34

Must add he has to ask you if you want one as well, but the person wanting the drink offers the other one a drink.
