to refuse to make dh a cup of tea

My dh has just asked me to make him a cup of tea.

I reminded him that I made the last cup for both of us. He said that prior to this, he had made 2 cups of tea, so now I have to.

AIBU to think that regardless of how many cups of tea he made before, if I made the last cup, it's not my turn now.

I can honestly say I have never argued with my wife over this in the last 25 years.

I just do one for her when I want one and she does one for me when she wants one.

Agree with 2rebecca on this.

gosh....i was being serious...didn't realize this was a joke thread....

ChippingIn · 02/03/2009 08:44

Reality - exactly!! Tea making is a designated DH job and if well trained, know better than to suggest otherwise .

rookiemater · 02/03/2009 11:05

Actually I prefer to make my own. DH doesn't put enough milk in my coffee and makes my tea too strong (boke) but I don't mention it for fear of upsetting him or putting him off making me a cup in future.

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 02/03/2009 11:07

Don't you have a maid to do this sort of stuff for you?

Gorionine · 02/03/2009 11:10

Yabu, He should not even have to ask!

Has he actually specified what size cup? When Dh is being lazy in the tea making dept I make him a cuppa but one from the DCs toy kitchen set. Makes me laugh anyway.

Helen31 · 02/03/2009 12:41

DH almost always makes the tea/coffee in our house. I will make them if he looks tired and in need of spoiling . But obviously he makes them better than me .

CherryChoc · 02/03/2009 15:03

How does the tea system work with nappy changes? My DP is rubbish at doing nappy changes and I'm usually halfway through one before I realise I should have insisted he do it.

Should I refuse to make him any tea until he changes a nappy?

LucyEllensmummy · 02/03/2009 15:55

YABU are you really THIS bored?

LucyEllensmummy · 02/03/2009 15:56

MY DP makes me a cuppa when he comes home, i will WAIT for him to make me tea because he makes it so much better than i do!

NormaJeanBaker · 02/03/2009 16:02

What are you doing drinking tea at that time of night? Ask him to make you a mai tai instead. Whatever that is.

purpleduck · 02/03/2009 16:15

Your dh is obviously passive aggressive - it could turn violent.
Leave him asap

YANBU. Another vote for divorce here. Make sure you get a lifetimes worth of teabags in alimony.
