to be annoyed that dp has soiled my homemade picnic with some cheap apple turnovers from the supermarket.

I have made: scones, lemon drizzle cake, chicken drumsticks of two varieties, a chicken and mango salad, home made lemonade, home made sausage rolls, smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels will add sandwiches tomorrow. I was preparing my rather fabulous wicker basket and rather revelling in my all round ponciness when I spotted the offending items.

If I take them out of the packaging will I manage to convince myself that I made them?

nnibnabs · 22/02/2009 00:14

what a bastard

twinsetandpearls · 22/02/2009 00:18

I know, I thought I had thwarted his efforts to burst my poncetastic bubble by making hin sausage rolls so he did not buy them.

Psycho we are going to point to point near Wimborne You are welcome to come down to enjoy the fruits of my domestic godessness.

Take them out, dust icing sugar on them and then you've half made them

I would love to, but TBH, DD3 has ballet exams tomorrow so can;t....

maybe we can actually plan properly tho

twinsetandpearls · 22/02/2009 00:24

lol psycho! No need to blush, it is not as if it is a closed event invite. I am yet to rule the Dorset horsey set and decide who goes.

Good luck with dd exams.

We will have to plan something , will certainly meet up over the summer as we are in Bournemouth every friday,

Very poncey. And lovely-sounding

Am I imagining it or was it you who posted about being invited round to have tea with new neighbours and being worried about them being posh?

twinsetandpearls · 22/02/2009 00:30

Yes that was me Trillian.

I have just returned to the hamper and have found ......

mini chocolate rolls and a packet of club type biscuit.

TrillianAstra · 22/02/2009 00:32

If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit...

The picnic sounds incredible, though I must admit that I love those turnovers too.

nnibnabs · 22/02/2009 00:42

The sainsburys ones leave a film of grease on the roof of your mouth.

nnibnabs · 22/02/2009 00:43

And that Olivia Newton-john is a right one when she starts bouncing off your tonsils

Qally · 22/02/2009 00:46

Do you have a dog? You could claim accidental droppage occurred.

Also: I want your picnic. It is making my marmite on toast feel irretrievably forlorn.

nnibnabs · 22/02/2009 00:49

Have you got a red gingham blanket to lay everything on? This picnic sounds lush [rumbling tum emoticon]

twinsetandpearls · 22/02/2009 00:51

I have a typical woolen checked blanket to lay it on. Forgot to add in my homemade potato salad with off course organic ingredients.

Yes we have a dog.

lol at Olivia Newton John on your tonsils.

DH and I took the dc on a picnic today - M&S sausages, sausage rolls, breadsticks, crisps, grapes, strawberries not a home-made thing in sight. And a coolbag with a supermarket name on it that wasn't Waitrose..

But we had decamped from Bodenland to a nearby town, so maybe not so bad after all.

But YANBU at all to be annoyed; I'd have eaten them with coffee at home before setting off!

more importantly, which shoes will you be wearing twinset? i will always remember (and thank) you for introducing me to irregular choice, although methinks, tis not suitable for picnics

twinsetandpearls · 22/02/2009 04:18

My wellies, we are point to pointing, alas they are not hunters. Although dd's wellies are from joules so there is still a hint of poncetacity.

MmeLindt · 22/02/2009 07:30

Before I judge your DH, I need to know where he bought the apple turnovers.

Waitrose would be almost acceptable.

Surely he did not buy them from Aldi? That would be grounds for divorce, IMO.

Am very jealous of your picnic. Are you having champagne too?

[books flight to London] Where did you say you were going?

Shoshe · 22/02/2009 08:03

He didn't buy them from Snowfield did he [faints at the thought!]

We had a picnic during the week at Lulworth Cove, but I took food flasks full of Chicken and spinach Stew Well it was cold
