Not being dressed at 3 in the afternoon?

I woke up at 11, lounged around a bit, tidied the playroom and am still not dressed and don't intend to get dressed until I go out at 7.

DH has taken all 3 boys on an 'adventure' in Cornwall from yesterday til Sunday so I am freeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

I was a bit shocked when the window cleaners (all 5 of em ) suddenly appeared around the back of the house to clean the windows while I was cleaning the playroom (conservatory) I beat a hasty retreat to the kitchen where there was another cleaning the windows and then another on the landing window..I was trapped in the hall

I'm not dressed. My 2yr old is in his nappy and pj top, but the worst thing is, that although my 23week IS dressed, this is only because I put her to bed in her clothes last night.

Do I win?

I'm pretty stunned by this actually. It's up to you of course, but do you really feel more comfortable slobbing about in last night's pyjamas than you would if you had a nice soak in the bath and got dressed?

I wouldn't.

And I think putting a child to bed in their clothes is a bit bad, I'm afraid.

If i'm not going out I am far more comfortable in pj's

My dc's spent their first years in babygro's so you could never tell if they'd been dressed or undressed.

Agree with geogimama.

I couldn't do it, I'd feel a lazy, stinking cow. We are always up, washed and dressed by 9 at the absolute latest.

Also think it's odd to put a baby to bed in clothes.

Yes georgimama We're not going out so it saves me a days worth of washing. I reuse dishes too if I can. Nothing wrong with puting your lunch time ham sandwich on the plate that once held your morning toast.

I'm afraid I feel quite the same whatever I am wearing.

My baby isn't really a child though is she. Babies don't get dirty just lying there kicking the ceiling. She has her daytime naps in her soft clothes, why not her night.

Just explining, - not looking for a row. I know your lifestyle is a little different to mine georgimama.

Well, if ds4 falls asleep in his clothes, which can happen when I bf him, so long as his nappy is clean, I am not going to wake him up again just to put a babygro on! I always have him in comfy clothes anyway.

want a pyjama day. We haven't managed anything even close this half term and DS and I are feeling equally deprived.

Geepers/Georgiemama I suspect this may depend somewhat on what 'normal' is for you. 'Normal' for me is a flat-out rush to get me, DS and DD dressed and out of the house for 8am so that we can get to work, school and nursery respectively. Slobbing all day in PJs/yesterday's clothes is rare, and therefore the height of luxury for all of us. If I were a SAHM with pre-school age children I might feel differently (I have never tried it so I wouldn't know).

I'm in my pjs too, and haven't even brushed my hair yet the slovenly woman I am!!!

Normally I do always shower, make up, dressed etc but am off out tonight and to be honest I couldn't be arsed this morning. I've had loads of cleaning and stuff to do so would of needed another shower before I went out so couldn't see the point........

There's nothing wrong with having the odd day slobbing out, if it was everyday I would worry though

I also work full time. I just don't see the "treat" in smelling of last night's stale sweat.

2 hours in the bath, now that would be a treat.

But how can you have 2 hours in the bath while looking after your dc, unless they are in there with you and where's the treat in that?

DD seems to be half dressed these days anyway as she's being potty trained (although did go to Sainsbury's yesterday and forgot potty and she freaked out at toilet, so had to go to Mothercare and buy another one....)

DS though is dressed -- my mom just landed at Heathrow and is getting a coach, so waiting by phone ready to pick her up....
