I don't normally do this, but oh! That bit where they take him away from his mother..

I can't stand films like that which make me bawl..think being a parent also makes it affect you more. I never used to cry half as much at things as I do now I've had dcs!
If you think that's bad, don't watch the Narnia film - the evacuee scene got me absolutely sobbing!

Thunderduck · 19/02/2009 23:26

The baby of mine scene makes me sob hysterically and I haven't even had children yet.

feedthegoat · 19/02/2009 23:27

I always cry though I am ridiculously over emotional when it comes to stuff like that - I've been known to cry talking about sad films! Definately NU.

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 19/02/2009 23:28

Most unreasonable. What the hell was that 'nearly' about. You should have properly blubbed.

KatyMac · 19/02/2009 23:31

Oh I cry

I cry so much

DD & I had a VERY bad argument today because I said I would not take her to see 'Marley & me'. Her dad can take her or her nana - but not me

IF (& it's a very big if) I watch it - it will be in the comfort f my own home where I can cry noisily & untidily not in a cinema

& I will prob start before the film starts as we all know he dies

Nontoxic · 19/02/2009 23:32

It's the bit where she strokes him through the cage that always tipped me over the edge - we only had it on vid so haven't seen it for years. And what was the song at that point?

Tryharder · 19/02/2009 23:33

I started crying the other day when reading "Bambi" to DS1 (aged 4). You know, the bit where his mum gets shots by the hunters...

Thunderduck · 19/02/2009 23:35

The song is called Baby Of Mine.

Lyrics.

Baby mine, don't you cry
Baby mine, dry your eyes
Rest your head close to my heart
Never to part, baby of mine
Little one when you play
Don't you mind what you say
Let those eyes sparkle and shine
Never a tear, baby of mine
If they knew sweet little you
They'd end up loving you too
All those same people who scold you
What they'd give just for
The right to hold you
From your head to your toes
You're not much, goodness knows
But you're so precious to me
Cute as can be, baby of mine

Kitteh · 19/02/2009 23:48

Isn't the song called "baby mine".. Bette Midler sang it.. cannot listen to it without crying.. lol..
Dumbo is a brill film, but i cry watching it too.. and bambi.. .. so YANBU..!!

oldraver · 19/02/2009 23:59

No its a good excuse to have good cry. I get wobbly watching March of the Penguins when they loose an egg or chick

Alanol · 20/02/2009 00:40

Ooh Thunderduck, you minx. Just read those lyrics and as my DD says, 'my eyes are melting' (she's 3!)

I always, always blub at that part. It's the rules.

SobranieCocktail · 20/02/2009 08:39

Totally agree lith LadyGlencora and Califrau.

I'm now considering torturing myself by watching that clip on youtube.

Oh God, here we go fellow masochists

Thunderduck · 20/02/2009 10:27

You're evil, but I watched it anyway and . I began to cry two seconds into it.

loobeylou · 20/02/2009 10:33

I'll blub at anything too!

but specially anything about mummies and babies

wilbur · 20/02/2009 10:33

I sang Baby Mine to all three of my babies when they were fretful. Beautiful song. Still bawl when I see the film - Mrs Jumbo's waving her trunk out the barred window. [sob] [howl]

Dropdeadfred · 20/02/2009 10:35

I cry at EVERYTHING on films and it always suprises people becuase I must come across as quite 'un-mushy' ost of the time

The Fox and the hound makes me cry too

Thunderduck · 20/02/2009 10:38

I cry at everything too. There are very few movies that don't induce my tears.

malfoy · 20/02/2009 10:38

YNBU. bambi and dumbo banned from this house.

loobeylou · 20/02/2009 10:38

Piglets big movie where Roo (I think) draws piglet in the steamed up window and a tear runs down its face...wah!
