To bring up sexualised pictures of 13 year old to her mother?

I have my friend's 13 (I think she's almost 14) year old daughter on my facebook friends list. She has just updated her pictures and they're all in sexual poses. Pouting at the camera, one is the camera looking down on her with bare legs etc and another is of her crawling along a bed, hair all messed up licking her lips. Its VERY suggestive.

She is a pretty girl but these photos are not nice. She has a lot of boys on her account and they will all see these. I'm a bit worried but I suspect her mother will know.

AIBU to bring it up? Even if its just to point out to her mum how these photos come across when browsing her profile?

Or is this normal for 13/14 year olds?

doesnt sound normal at all. i would say something.

Weegle · 19/02/2009 19:41

Is her mother a friend of hers on FB?

Slightly different, but I pointed out to a parent (my cousin) that his daughter had put various inappropriate things on FB (personal details really) and he was extremely grateful. But I suspect if you know the mother already knows then what use would telling her be? In my case I knew the parent would want to get it changed.

i have a daughter of almost 17 and i would be really bloody pissed off if she had pics like that on her fb account

BitOfFun · 19/02/2009 19:42

You don't sound in a position to moralize from your other thread....I think you should finish your homework.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 19/02/2009 19:43

YANBU, talk to her mum. Sounds a bit yuk, although I'm sure the girl thinks she's being cool. I would be concerned if it was my daughter.

SammyK · 19/02/2009 19:43

I would bring it up, they sound like soft porn shots!

What will you do though if her mum is aware of them and thinks they are fine?!? As you say lots of boys on her account will see these and that may put her in a vulnerable position.

Who has taken these pics?!

NikosNikki · 19/02/2009 19:51

bitoffun, I know what you're implying. If you think that, then why bother answering?

I'm judging the girl, I'm worried about her FFS.

I'm not sure who has taken them. Most have been taken by herself with a camera phone I think but the one on the bed, I'm not sure how she would do that one herself as both hands are in the shot.

OP posts:
NikosNikki · 19/02/2009 19:51

That should say I'm NOT judging the girl.

two very inflammatory threads in one night?

Nice.

lou33 · 19/02/2009 19:53

two threads?

Miyazaki · 19/02/2009 19:54

OPs other thread.. Hmmm...

NikosNikki · 19/02/2009 19:56

I didn't realise this would be inflammatory.

Hmm
lou33 · 19/02/2009 20:00

ah ok, read it now

Get a life

KayHarker · 19/02/2009 20:03

Um, I thought it was rather un-MN to bring up other unrelated threads?

Is this going to be another fevered night of troll-hunting?

OP, I'd want to know.

Miyazaki · 19/02/2009 20:04

Un-MN? Paff!

Read the other thread.

AnyFucker · 19/02/2009 20:05

yesssssssss kay

mwah-ha-ha-haaa

piratecat · 19/02/2009 20:06

i thought it was un mumsnetty to start a thread about a thread.
This is linking to another thread.

Lilyloo · 19/02/2009 20:06
Hmm
KayHarker · 19/02/2009 20:09

I read the other thread. I read it before I saw this one and thought it would kick off in a heartbeat.

Just one of the things I enjoy about MN is the fact that crap from one thread doesn't usually follow someone around the whole board.

ForeverOptimistic · 19/02/2009 20:12

I had a similar issue the other day (she is also 13). I raised it with the mother but she thought the pictures were fine.

AnyFucker · 19/02/2009 20:12

crap does follow crap, though

and the crap sure is flying toooo-night

BitOfFun · 19/02/2009 20:12

Depends what they are triptrapping around the board though really, no?

Miyazaki · 19/02/2009 20:13

Just because crap from one thread doesn't usually follow posters around the board, it doesn't mean we have to let bored loons shit in our shoes for kicks.
