signs plastered at the back of a car, is Chavy Chav Chav?

OP posts:
VinegarTits · 11/02/2009 20:34

I have a sign on board that mine says 'beware of the tosser behind me'

ilovemydogandMrObama · 11/02/2009 20:38

There was a bumper sticker craze in the US.

It was popular to have a: 'I heart my wife'

Then it all got a bit sick: I my wife

oneyummymummy · 11/02/2009 20:39

I dont have one so tht people dont tailgate me...I have one because I wanted one! I really dont care whether the person behind me likes it or not...its just stating a fact!
More fool them for getting wound up by it, I drive on happily.....

elportodelgato · 11/02/2009 20:40

saw a variation on my road today - "ex-wife in boot"

JentlyDoesIt · 11/02/2009 20:44

I don't drive but DP doesn't like them, he isn't going to drive any differently if there is a child on board or not.

However, we did see a great bumper sticker that said "My other ride's your daughter"

pippibluestocking · 11/02/2009 20:46

If they were to be if any use to emergency services, people would have to remove them every time that thieir "little princess" wasn't on baord, which of course no-one does, so I very much doubt if ES take much notice of them TBH. Would be interesting to hear from any ES staff / spouse of ES staff here on MN who might be able to tell us

TheDrunkard2009 · 11/02/2009 21:01

So you've managed to breed. Big deal. Even

monkeys can work out which hole to put it

in. And they don't go around making such a

fuss about it.

SugarBird · 11/02/2009 21:02

I agree with JentlyDoesIt's DP. Why would someone drive carefully when there's a vehicle with a baby in it but not around vehicles with older kids or adults on board? Don't get it and loathe all of these signs.

Thunderduck · 11/02/2009 21:04

I hate these stickers. Any variation of them and they are completely pointless.

Sassybeast · 11/02/2009 21:06

I heard an argument once on another parenting forum that they should be banned for being offensive to those struggling to conceive, in a 'Look at meeeeee I'm fertile' kinda way. I'm still not sure if the poster was serious (I think they were)

Thunderduck · 11/02/2009 21:06

I think the emergency services thing is nonsense. Now in a car wreck what are you most likely to see? A 3 or 4 foot child? A baby seat or a 4 inch sticker? Considering that the rear is often so badly damaged, the screen could be smashed, rear crumpled etc that the last thing anyone will be able to see is a sticker.

Nightcrawly · 11/02/2009 21:15

I want one that says "PFB on Board, in safest car seat on the market, fed only on organic lentils and breastmilk, BLW naturally, never even seen a frootshoot, sausage roll or a TV, incidentally G&T and dressed only in unbleached organic cotton babygro and reusuable nappy. So don't get too fucking close, alright?"

TheSmallClanger · 11/02/2009 21:23

I don't like anything with "Little Princess" on it.

Thunderduck · 11/02/2009 21:24

Neither do I Clanger. It makes me want to vomit whether it's on one of those bloody stickers or on a t-shirt.

CrushWithEyeliner · 11/02/2009 21:26

dunno about chavvy but they are rather pathetic imo

giraffescantdancethetango · 11/02/2009 21:27

LOL at bus

Divineintervention · 11/02/2009 21:27

Anything with Little princess, Angel, Daddy's girl, Mummy's boy, little Monster, Little devil....all pretty vile in my book. However I saw a baby wearing a Give peas a chance tee and thought it was cute.
Why is it that all girl's things have postive stuff and boys have 'naughty'?

TheDrunkard2009 · 11/02/2009 21:29

Maybe they are expecting us to

police escort their 'Little Princes and

princesses'

FairLadyRandySlut · 11/02/2009 21:38

wily ...tbh..I don't think those signs make any difference to ther drivers..the irresponsibl idiots don't care anyway and the rest will behave responsible anyway...

but I get the chav point made on this thread....everythings seems to be chav right now, tbh...

sarahsissorhands · 12/02/2009 09:12

SNOBS! Why does it even bother you?

Another mother decides to buy a sign for her car, and you lot get wound up by it.

So now chav expands to women/men with signs on thier cars? But only if they contain things that might mean that a mother is proud and 'smug' about her children, why, do you feel threatened by it?

MouseMate · 12/02/2009 09:20

So what do you do when your DD, who is crazy for all things 'Princess' (gawd help me) asks for one?

Do I say no and upset her just because other people may judge me......?

Or get her one and say a resounding fuck off to those who judge me........?

mm22bys · 12/02/2009 09:24

YANBU, hate them....

mayorquimby · 12/02/2009 10:30

yanbu.
am i the only one who hates all "baby on board" signs though?
they do make me see red.

MorrisZapp · 12/02/2009 11:54

There's a souped up pink 'babe' type car near me with the words 'who is she' stuck in large letters across the rear windsreen.

Is this a reference to the banshee Nikki from Big Brother? Does anybody know? Is it some kind of street lingo or something?

Sheeta · 12/02/2009 13:34

I saw a pole dancer on board one. urgh.
