The endless threads and posts about the new layout

The threats to flounce

Regurgitating the same old stuff, over and over...

I prefer the old Classic layout (ie, yesterday's) But that's because it's what I was using until, er, yesterday!

I am sure you will all get used to it, in time

Change is good, people

I apologise if this has been said already in countless other threads

SmallShips · 30/01/2009 19:58

I prefer the classic layout, but i won't be leaving or moaning.

I did LOL at the flouncers

Ronaldinhio · 30/01/2009 19:59

I'm still wandering around confused feeling like a teahcer at a school disco

I'm sure it'll wear off and I'll be doing the mashed potato to some gangsta rap imminently

notnowbernard · 30/01/2009 20:00

LOL Ronaldinhio

(Great name - may I ask why you chose it?)

Watusi · 30/01/2009 20:02

Yes I understand now I am back to classic

It has everything I missed so nothing's really changed for me

The new style was hard for me to cope with and much slower and more prim

But now I know I can have to old format I am v happy.

I hope too many people don't feck off just because they don't realise they can get the old style back (well almost)

Lilyloo · 30/01/2009 20:03

I think it's just taken people by surprise and as they are popping on at different times of the day they are having there say.

Come tom everyone will accept it and move on.

Think some people on differing servers are not able to access lot's of things so hopefully when all is resolved everything will be back to 'normal'

Have had to stifle a giggle at the flouncers though! That's when you know you spend too much time here

Lilyloo · 30/01/2009 20:04

Although have to say i have gone back to classic too

Stretch · 30/01/2009 20:04

I agree. When they've ironed out the flaws, (threads I'm on disappearing is bugging me!) I'm sure it'll be fine.

I'm not going to flounce! What other sites have shitting elf threads??

notnowbernard · 30/01/2009 20:06

Lilyloo, yes, I guess I hadn't thought about that (people coming on throughout the day and then starting yet another thread about it commenting on it)

flimflammum · 30/01/2009 20:06

I'm happy because it seems to work better on my ancient Mac browser than the previous one did. Hurrah! (probably should put that in 'geek stuff')

francagoestohollywood · 30/01/2009 20:07

How do you go back to classics with a mac? I use safari

ThingOne · 30/01/2009 20:07

I agree. Give them a chance to make it work. If there are still major problems in a week then it's time to get stroppy but they have to have some time to sort out the problems which have been reported.

Can't understand all the over excitement.

Watusi · 30/01/2009 20:08

Classic seems to move quicker, you can see more at once

It looks absolutely beautiful with the new colours and font - the old one was very ugly really.

I just hope we don't lose the old ambience. No I really really like this. It's quite glam.

WELL DONE everyone who helped make it.

Ronaldinhio · 30/01/2009 20:09

because I have been known by that moniker

I love notnowBernard but I can literally recite that book
Roar!!

Sycamoretree · 30/01/2009 20:16

I'm getting used to it, but you know, like moving into a new house. I think it actually looks a lot prettier, and clearer, it's just my eyes are dancing around because I don't yet know where to click or where to look...but I er, reckon I can figure it out

notnowbernard · 30/01/2009 20:16

For why have you been called Ronaldinhio?

OP posts:
TheFirstLiffey · 30/01/2009 20:17

I agree, it's virtually the same. WHAT is the difference?

Ronaldinhio · 30/01/2009 20:21

goofy looking with excellent footballing skills???

I really can't say but it was endearing and appropriate

glad you like it!

notnowbernard · 30/01/2009 20:25

I love watching Ronaldinhio

He does look like a little girl, I think

A happy little girl

My ball skills are appaling

OP posts:
SugarSpike · 30/01/2009 20:28

Ive only been a member for a few days but for what little difference there is I think its better. The list of threads seem to be spread out a little better therefore easier to read, Ive had no problems with big gaps or anything but like people have said people are using different browsers. I always think a change is good anyway.
It strange actually cos when I first stumbled across mumsnet I thought it could do with a slighty more clearer layout and a few days later it happened

WhatsTheBloodyPoint · 30/01/2009 20:29

Knickers are twisting in a massively overdramatic fashion. Flouncing??? Over a bit of a layout change and a change in hue of blue?? Oh sorry, and font?

I really fail to see what the big deal is about, I like it.

I suppose I feel it can only say that these posters must have pretty charmed lives if they've got the spare energy to generate this much ire over such a minor thing

WhatsTheBloodyPoint · 30/01/2009 20:31

Do'ya know I've no idea why I was striking out those last words?

piratecat · 30/01/2009 20:31

i will be happier when i can see the entire width of a line of text, without having to scroll left, and then right again to get to the next line.

FairLadyRantALot · 30/01/2009 20:33

actually since saying my night would maybe spoiled, I was ale to change to mn classic...so...happy with that...still can't see the new bits that stay, being easier to navigate though...so

notnowbernard · 30/01/2009 20:33

Still not worth generating a hundred threads over though, surely?

< at realisation I have started yet another one>

OP posts:
Lulumama · 30/01/2009 20:35

hijack for notnowbernard.. you enjoy shameless new series?
