To expect male visitors to my house to put the seat down after they've had a wee?

This infuriates me (and evokes unwanted visions of them fishing out their penes).

This might seem strange but I can't remember a male visitor ever leaving the seat up.

aGalChangedHerName · 25/01/2009 10:36

Yuck especailly if they leave dribbles on it too

Metatron · 25/01/2009 10:38

Hi Agal. We are off car hunting today. An arsehole ripped a hole in our runabout and so now we have no cars .

Hope fully see you soon mwah!

sasamaxx · 25/01/2009 10:38

YANBU

Bet they don't wash their hands either a lot of the time and then touch the door handle with a hand still containing traces of wee...yukk!!!

aGalChangedHerName · 25/01/2009 10:40

Metatron i had a text from Naily about that!!

Feck me girl what's the deal with that? God i couldn't believe it!!

Hawkmoth · 25/01/2009 10:40

If they have dripped it's better to know sooner rather than later.

aGalChangedHerName · 25/01/2009 10:41

Feel a bit squirmy now, wish i hadn't opened this now lol

Metatron · 25/01/2009 10:42

Me also...

BonsoirAnna · 25/01/2009 10:48

My DP and DSSs can't manage this... Most visitors seem to be able to, however .

moondog · 25/01/2009 10:50

The last cuprit was my lovely MSc supervisor.
It has ruined our relationship frankly.

Good luck with the car hunt Meta, let me know how you get on xx

sasamaxx · 25/01/2009 10:52

The man fixing my flooring did it last week - seat up and drips.
Some of DP's friends do it.
It really annoys me

Tanee58 · 25/01/2009 10:53

I like to keep the lid AND the seat down. It's supposed to be more hygienic when you flush, plus no danger of the cats falling in. But most of our male guests put the seat down only. And DP has started leaving the lid up, I believe, in some sort of attempt to stake his claim on the house. Weird.

Actually, I think this is less of a problem than those men who can't aim straight .

Goes off to heave....

Tanee58 · 25/01/2009 10:54

Worst experience I had were workmen decorating my front room in my old flat, who didn't even FLUSH!

moondog · 25/01/2009 10:55

Not as bad as the builder who told me how he had the shits (I know, I know).
All I could think of was
'Yes,I konw, you have pebble dashed my en suite, you oaf. Do you think I haven't noticed??'

OP posts:
Hawkmoth · 25/01/2009 10:55

It's not nice, but so funny when DP is so tired at night that he pisses on his own leg!

sasamaxx · 25/01/2009 10:55

yyyyuuuuuuuuukkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!

moondog · 25/01/2009 10:56

When we had our last house gutted and redone (I was elsewhere) i rushed over to admire pristine new bathroom only to find the bog brimming with stinky builder pee.God i went nuts!

We had a plumber who christened the new loo with an enormous log once. It wouldn't flush for ages. I felt like paying him less for mess left behind.

Shock

When I first met dh he was obviously eager to please and started to automaticaly put the seat and lid down on the loo after use.

Then after being in hospital for 7months he stopped doing it as he hadn't had to do so for months.

10 years on, not only do I have to go around after him putting seat and lid down but I have to turn the light off too. Unfortunately, ds also does it.

It drives me nuts

I remember having a very funny conversation with my builder and plummer when having loft done. Them wanting to know where to put the loo in the new shower room. They were somewhat bemused when I retorted that it didn't really matter because none of the men will actually wee in it, only around it on the floor. It amused me anyway

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/01/2009 12:02

drives me insane

but as dh says, he has to lift seat up and i have to lift seat down - therefore we both have to lift

what does REALLY annoy is the fact that EVERY time one of dh friends come round -they go for a shit in my toilet

every fucking time - and they leave skid marks and dont spray afterwards

moondog · 25/01/2009 15:15

Blonde,I would stop them before they left and point it out.
It's not really on shitting in other people's houses is it? Only allowable for small children and in extreme situations.
