AIBU to get a take away tonight and not cook, I cant be bothered to cook. I probably will end up doing something though, but I could really go for a KFC

Do you think if I tell DH I am craving KFC cos I am PG he will buy it (I really am pg BTW)

dusty I'm pregnant too and so so tired that I just don't have the energy to make tea either. Can barely handle my 2 lively children and all the mess they're making. I'm doing burgers and chips from the freezer. Not great I know but you can only do what you can do.

tumtumtetum · 15/01/2009 16:55

God pg knackeredness is the worst. Have a KFC if you want one!! Get some of the beans and sweetcorn though too eh

minouminou · 15/01/2009 16:56

we've recently had a couple of cantonese "banquets" from M&S - bung them in the oven for 20 mins, hey presto
they're not too bad
ditch KFC, though.

DustyTv · 15/01/2009 16:58

lol at better takeaway. I did the naughty dinner last night, we had sausages chips and beans lol. I think I may make some veg stew tomorrow while DD is napping then DH can re heat that for his dinner tomorrow night.

Will deffo get the sweetcorn, DD and I love sweetcorn.

tumtumtetum · 15/01/2009 17:00

Heavy on the sweetcorn and light on the crispy chicken coating!

And KFC chips are rubbish - really soggy for some reason.

HecateQueenOfGhosts · 15/01/2009 17:01

Actually, I may get DH to pop to sainsbo's on the way home and get a Chinese banquet meal, that would prop be better than a KFC me thinks.

I did exactly this on Monday except I'm not PG but I did have a god awful headache and had a shit day at work. I sent a text to DH to ask him to pick up something on his way home and KFC was what he got - I could have married him all over again when I saw that little red bucket!!! (Well it was quite a big bucket actually!!!!) Agree with tumtum though - the chips are a bit pants.

DustyTv · 15/01/2009 17:43

Dh doesn't want a takeaway, he is having jambalya (sp?) that he has in the freezer, DD is having pasta, salmon and sweetcorn and I don't know what I am having.

Pah!!!!!

When i am really really hungry i fancy KFC, i quite like their chips but our local KFC is a half hour drive away.

Can you not get a chinese from the takeaway?

LucyEllensmummy · 15/01/2009 17:53

you are pregnant, make him go and get you want you want - otherwise phone the order yourself just make him pay for it!! Can you not have jambalaya? I nearly made that at xmas, it sounds yummmmy

2pt4kids · 15/01/2009 17:53

oh i really fancy a kfc now!!!

BenFMsmum · 15/01/2009 17:56

Oooh KFC!! I can't eat it anymore as I have a wheat intollerance so I say go get a bucket and enjoy it for me, soggy chips and all!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 15/01/2009 18:08

my microwave has just blown up... chips are in the oven cooking (well already cooked, but on lowest heat while DH see's if its just a fuse) and i needed the microwave to cook my haggis!!!!!! Think i may have to send DH out for something and KFC sounds just about right!!

Lotster · 15/01/2009 18:09

Tis only when I am drunk after a rare girls night I can forget the horrid details I know about KFC and indulge in a filet burger or zinger twister thingy. But sober I couldn't touch it!

Seriously, they use high pressure hoses to blast the meat off the carcusses to every last bit off (called mechanically recovered meat) to make those bits that go in to your bucket (unless wings etc obv). Or the meat is bleached to remove the "hock burns" made by the chickens urine in the battery cage. Mmmmmm....

You can have a nicer takeaway, how about fish and chips? Am I a killjoy or what

DustyTv · 15/01/2009 18:34

Nah I couldn't just get a takeaway for me, surely too much of an extravagance (or is it)

DD has been fed now anyway and DH's jambalya is in the oven so I will probably just have soup or something equally exciting lol.

We will probably get a Chinese tomorrow now so all is not lost

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 15/01/2009 18:45

Is there not enough jambalaya for 2?

DustyTv · 15/01/2009 18:49

I'm not a lover of jambalaya TBH. I only get it in or make it if I can be bothered for DH.

I am currently eating custard creams.

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 15/01/2009 18:56

Lol you should have made yourself some pasta when you did DD's. Soup sounds yummy though.

ilovelovemydog · 15/01/2009 19:00

No, you have to go to KFC as half the craving is the smell of place!

bronze · 15/01/2009 20:15

Stick with a sausage roll and a fruit shoot. Its definitely the lesser of two evils

xfabba · 15/01/2009 20:19

get a restaurant take away - Thai or Indian - you deserve it. Tonight we had toast and jam for dinner as neither of us could be arsed. Luckily dc had eaten at nursery. This is fairly standard for us, even when not pg YANBU!
