....and then sometimes be very surprised by their comments?

Haha @ cornsilk

I don't resemble a bean I don't think...

feedthegoat · 11/01/2009 11:32

Hmmm - Do i sound like a farmers wife or something?

cornsilk · 11/01/2009 11:37

More like a stressed out mum at the petting zoo. 'Just feed the goat!'

LoveBeingAMummy · 11/01/2009 11:40

...or something very rude that I would never do....

feedthegoat · 11/01/2009 11:42

Definately closer cornsilk! Choice was related to football team i support in truth and i (affectionately I add!) used to call my ds a daft goat when being silly.

Lulumama · 11/01/2009 11:44

I do look like Lulu's mum !

pushchair · 11/01/2009 11:45

I tried submitting several nicknames before this one and they were taken. So thought about what I spent my time doing and had some interest in and sadly [in some ways] pushchairs sprang to mind. I have thought about changing it especially since the slagging off of 'pushchair huns' recently but isnt that a hassle and you must spend time explaining to others who you were before?

cornsilk · 11/01/2009 11:48

lol @ lovebeingamummy.

When I chose my nickname I was feeling anything but optimistic! I thought if I chose this name it would force me to adopt a more positive attitude. Neurotic or unsure would have been more apt at the time!

sausagenmash · 11/01/2009 12:49

Can I just say, I don't think I look like a giant sausage or a pile of mash. I do like eating them, though. With lots of gravy. And peas

nappyzonehasastroppytoddler · 11/01/2009 12:54

i just look haggered then!

DisasterArea · 11/01/2009 12:55

Yup. i am a disaster area.
i am also a dead intergalactic rock star but my real name caused all sorts of confusion.

merryberry · 11/01/2009 12:57

...just read the thread title as Munters...

merryberry · 11/01/2009 12:57
Grin
sausagenmash · 11/01/2009 12:58

Nappyzonehasastroppytoddler - I think you look great as a bear!

TheProvincialLady · 11/01/2009 13:08

I think my name probably makes me sound more grown up, sensible and posher than I really am. Unless you are a fellow E M Delafield fan, when you will realise that I am just pretentious

PinkTulips · 11/01/2009 13:24

well i must confuse the hell out of you then as my name is all cutsey and vacantly girly and i'm..... well not generally (i hope? )

i actually picked it as it was the only present i got for mothers day that year.... which i bought myself. it a sort of personal reminder that at the end of the day everything is down to me and not to expect anyone else to come through for me as i'll be disappointed.

LoveBeingAMummy · 11/01/2009 13:29

So some are literal and some hopeful.....

BitOfFun · 11/01/2009 13:34

I stuck with mine after namechanging for a lighthearted rude thread...it was not long after I joined, and the first time people "spoke" to me, so I kept it. I love seeing clever or funny names like TheDevilWearsPrimark, or jesuswhatnext, but I didn't get it together in time to make one up for myself. I like this though, at least it's cheerful!

matildax · 11/01/2009 13:37

great thread. i too have done this, wondered what they looked like from their name!

cathpot, that is so so funny..... fabulous!!

helen burns..... am i right in thinking she was the 'bed fellow' and friend of jane eyre??? (i hope i am right, i have read that book countless times!!!!)

MadameOvary · 11/01/2009 13:46

I used to be Bearmama, but this is MUCH more me.

cathpot is a brilliant name.

differentID · 11/01/2009 13:56

I don't know what people make of my name.

pamelat · 11/01/2009 14:07

I also did not realise that my "nickname" would be my visible on screen name. I was sleep deprived when I joined as DD was a week old. I never knew I would be online so much!

pamelat · 11/01/2009 14:12

cornsilk and fairycake - to me your names make me think that you are petite people, girly and friendly.

MadameOvary - to me your name makes me think that you are tall (why?!!!) witty and intelligent. Similar for Theprovinciallady?

Sausagenmash - your name makes me think that you are fun and that I would enjoy drinking wine with you. It makes me think that you are homely and a real earth mum.

I rarely look at profiles, most seem to be private?
