We've got a whole aisle of easter eggs..

maddening.

Fleurlechaunte · 09/01/2009 18:33

Yes and various mini easter eggs. Really makes me grind my teeth.

Piffle · 09/01/2009 18:33

You can get them all year round in our tescos

hedgehog1979 · 09/01/2009 18:40

its along the lines of the creme eggs that seem to get earlier every year - DH gave me one in my stocking for christmas one year

FatController · 09/01/2009 18:40

I love hot cross buns and am glad they are available all year!
They make a fab bread and butter pudding if you spread them with marmalade and put them in the oven in a dish with some custard.

georgiemum · 09/01/2009 18:41

They sell them in M&S all year around.

idobelieveinfairies · 09/01/2009 18:42

Really?..yum!

CatIsSleepy · 09/01/2009 18:43

oh i love hot cross buns! they should always be available

puppydetox · 09/01/2009 18:43

hot cross buns have been available year-round for years.

foxinsocks · 09/01/2009 18:45

yummm toasted with butter and strawberry jam

DumbledoresGirl · 09/01/2009 18:48

Easter is 12th April this year.

Our Tescos had a whole display of creme eggs and other small Easter eggs on 3rd January.

Wheelybug · 09/01/2009 18:50

I saw a small display of easter eggs/chicks/bunnies in our Waitrose on 28 December. Ridiculous.

combustiblelemon · 09/01/2009 18:54

They really shouldn't sell hot cross buns so early. It's terrible for my thighs totally inappropriate

mazzystartled · 09/01/2009 18:55

easter is quite early this year
i don't mind them selling nice easter things in january
it's nowhere near as in yer face as christmas or halloween, there is nothing like the commercial pressure
and frankly we all need something to look forward to in these dark days of winter

theowlwhowasafraidofthedark · 09/01/2009 18:56

Hot cross buns always available in M&S. Would be gutted if they took them away after easter.

Amapoleon · 09/01/2009 18:57

There are Easter eggs in Morrisons in Gibraltar.

nametaken · 09/01/2009 19:14

YANBU - the valentines line should be in the shops first

random · 09/01/2009 19:17

I want a hot cross bun now

Whizzz · 09/01/2009 19:18

Jan 2nd - Costco had Easter eggs out on display

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 09/01/2009 19:29

Sorry, YABTotallyU.

Would be totally reasonable to not WANT to see hot cross buns, easter eggs, etc on sale now. But honestly, this isn't the first time it's happened, so YABU to not EXPECT it.

The little choc eggs are slowly but surely making their way into the shops too. That bugs me a bit, but not the hot cross buns because I like them!

hippipotami · 09/01/2009 20:07

I know, it is madness!! Dd spotted Creme Eggs in teh co-op the other day and promptly wanted some. When I told her to wait until nearer Easter she said 'but we could buy them now and just look after them until Easter...

Made the lady in the queue behind us giggle...
