Heaven forfend some peopel not be in a financial position to BUY a house - or at least rent privately.. I mean HOW dreadful taht some people (myself included) would have to STOOP so low as to rent LOW cost quality housing from a Councilor ocial landlord.

How simply SHOCKING then that the Government Provide low cost (- NOT - subsidised) for individuals and families who are denied through their circumstances the luxury of owning their home.

and worse still her precious House might resemble a HA/Council house... well FUCK me how shockingly dreadful - I mean you'd think architects would have the good sense to differentiate house appearences for the sae of those who CAN buy one over the rest of us scum.

Could SOZ I wonder imagine what its like to be looked down on so much for living in a council house, and worse still actually being on full housing and council tax benefit, eeking out an existence on Income Support - becuase working just isn't an option, does she consider how much it takes from you to KNOW you are being 'subsidised'. Does she know how it feels to have to justify NOT being able to work? to have to attend regular work focussed interviews where you may as well bang your head against the wall? becuase unless a job thats 10am - 2pm, term time only and pays you to have all the time off you need to with 2 children to consider ( the youngest of whom is diabled)and this job would have to pay exceptionally well JUST to keep the Council rented roof over our heads.

My pride is dented enough without the kindof snobbery and judgemental attitudes displayed here.

We don't live extravagantly, this idyllic notion of being on benefits is NOT what some people imagine. What I aren't apoying in rent and council tax - I am paying to get myself out of some serious debt, we only have a car becuase my youngest son is disabled.

Having read through this nasty and unpleasant thread I think it needs to be removed - as someone who HAS to rent (albeit in the private sector) I am very hurt by some of the comments made here by the OP who seems to think anyone who has to rent is a subsidised by herself and many others.

At the end of the day everyone needs somewhere to live and if that means being subsidised so be it. I just do not understand what the OP's problem is with that - the house she links to looks very nice and I am not sure what she was asking us to say. . If her point was to be as unpleasant as possible then I'd like to say "congratulations" - job done. Merry Christmas to you - may you learn a little humility.

FWIW we had our own 2 bed box which we sold and then bought a 3 bedroomed house. When DH was posted here we sold it - at the height of the housing market and banked the money. So who is the silly one? Not me!

oh i LOVE my HA house,its so much nicer than our previous owned one, i love it love it love it and dont care WHO knows that we live in a HA house,i consider myself very lucky to have been given this house.

She doesn't work. SHe briefly considered it according to another thread but when she realised she wouldnt get most of her childcare paid for by the government she decided it wasn't worth her while.
