goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 20/12/2008 13:44

well I'm not sending any Christmas cards this year.

I'm finding it harding enough getting cards to just FAQ @ the boys, without having to sit down and write ones from just me and them.

TheChristmasArmadillo · 20/12/2008 13:44

does it really matter?

Oh I didnt use it as a excuse, I was honest and said I couldnt be bothered to send them {fgrin]

did send e cards tho.

hecAteAMillionMincePies · 20/12/2008 13:47

I'm barely sending any because I can't be bothered.

you write them, you send them, mostly to people you haven't had any contact with since the christmas card LAST year, they get put up for a week, then thrown in the bin and you forget all about them and the people who sent them, until it's time to send them again the following year.

I mean, what IS the point?

Piffle · 20/12/2008 13:47

I don't
Rainforest conscious
I do get one for pil as it matters to them

OrmIrian · 20/12/2008 13:48

Erm yes of course. What other reason is there? I've sent a fraction of the normal number because, yes I can't be bothered

Piffle · 20/12/2008 13:48

I did buy mn cards though
Will eek them out over the years

Steamrunner · 20/12/2008 13:48

I don't like people and people don't like me. Saves me a fortune at Christmas time.

wenceslasmyeducation · 20/12/2008 13:48

Christmas cards are such a waste of time and money and card.
If sending to people you don't see, that's one thing, but other than that, it's a Victorian marketing scam. Can I not just say 'Merry Christmas!'?

I just cant be bothered sending them
its sooo time consuming

TheProvincialLady · 20/12/2008 13:53

I am not sending any. I had a baby 2 days ago so basically, if it doesn't make milk or clean poo I ain't doing it. Plus cards are crap. It has been really liberating this year to open them, say 'that's nice' and then put straight into the recycling.

piscesmoon · 20/12/2008 14:08

I just love sending and receiving cards-I would rather give up presents! I love the letters and keeping in touch.

Overmydeadbody · 20/12/2008 14:10

I can't be bothered, why just add to landfills?

DS, on the other hand, sneds them to a select few friends, but they are homemade masterpieces of glitter, glue and felt so that is ok!

UnquietDad · 20/12/2008 14:15

We didn't do it one year - gave money to charity instead.

Got serious from mother and MIL...

BreevandercampLGJ · 20/12/2008 14:18

Trouble is I am in bed with Pooo Nome eeeee aaa amd I haven't got the energy.

The whole thing really is a total waste of money imo. And probably keeps the royal mail afloat.....well that and ebay. Oh and junk mail.

I only get them from people I see all the time anyway.

Tell you what does annoy me.....the "babymt and Mr babymt AND FAMILY"....ffs its not hard to remember my kids names! Even our families did this! They are either stoopid or lazy.

piscesmoon · 20/12/2008 15:34

When I say I like them - I don't bother sending them to people I see anyway! That would be a waste of time. I have moved around a lot and have friends and relations all over the place.

NotsoHoHoHO · 20/12/2008 18:36

If people would genuinely rather give to charity, then fair enough. If they cant be bothered I would rather they just say and not use the charity thing as an excuse.

TheBayingBanshee · 20/12/2008 18:50

I don;t do cards............and for me it is part cost/part time/part I can;t be bothered.

and anyway......

the tradition of cards were to send to people you don;t see, to say 'I am thinking of you at this festive time of year'....it was never intended to be for all and sundry who you see every day.

I blame Hallmark for our current obsession with having to send a trillion cards!!!
