I think there are many who don't give a toss and post accordingly on these lengthy threads. Just be who you are, folks.

shitehawk · 18/12/2008 22:20

Can't say that I've noticed.

Couldn't give a four-X, to be quite honest.

ScottishMummy · 18/12/2008 22:21

i don't think about class.i get the lower orders to do that for me,and meekly report back

LittleJingleBellas · 18/12/2008 22:23

Yes YABU.

It's not obsessed, it's just one of the few places where this issue is taken seriously and discussed openly. In most of the media, it is ignored. You don't have to participate in the threads if you find them dull.

retiredgoth2 · 18/12/2008 22:24

....I confess to enjoying the class threads enormously.

As a snob (both inverted and of traditional orientation. I enjoy mockery wherever it might alight) I glory in the fun to be had...

Largely I post about my (usually thwarted) attempts to join the middle class...

....and usually stifle the urge to sneer publicly at very (probably unintentionally) snooty threads about, for instance, which hugely expensive school in an exclusive London suburb to choose.

However my attempts to stifle grow weaker with wine.

...class may not entertain some (as it does me), it is real enough though.

... those who claim 'classlessness' remind me somewhat of 'apolitical' students in the 80s. They all (as I recall) voted for Mrs T. Apolitically, I presume....

2AdventSevenfoldShoes · 18/12/2008 22:24

yanbu
to me it is just all about one upmanship.

retiredgoth2 · 18/12/2008 22:25

I am amused, Scottish Mummy!

LittleJingleBellas · 18/12/2008 22:25

LOL yes apolitical is just another word for stupid imo.

NotanOtter · 18/12/2008 22:26

agree snoop

microcosm of society

GrimmaTheNome · 18/12/2008 22:27

I read the title of the 'builders daughter' one and assumed it was a joke.

A few people may be obsessed, but then again less than seem obsessed by baby names or (fill in as apt)

Tortington · 18/12/2008 22:28

OH YES, i dont get it at all

twinsetiscrapatflouncing · 18/12/2008 22:29

I find class fascinating, probably because I am a working class persons who spends her time being amused at the anxieties of her m/c friends.

ScottishMummy · 18/12/2008 22:30

class permeates every facet of life from employment to baby group so why not MN,we are flawed idiosyncratic humans after all

twinsetiscrapatflouncing · 18/12/2008 22:30

I am so common infact I repeat myself 3 times and have a faulty keyboard

DoubleBluff · 18/12/2008 22:31

that ascinating twin?
I am not saying that society is 'classless' in my line of work i know it def isn't.
And it warrants serious ddebate.
I get irritated by the I am thsi I lever here whatdoes that make me....
