to want to go out and leave my kids alone?

I'm a single mum, and have 3 kids. My oldest is 7 and the other two are 3 and 4. There is a pub just down the road from me and my 3 are all brilliant sleepers. I've been leaving them at home once they are asleep and popping back regularly. My neighbour has had a right go at me and is threatening to tlel the cops. I can't afford a babysitter and my mum refuses to do it anymore as she works 4 evenings a week and wants the other nights to herself. I think she's being really selfish, surely I deserve a life to??

what scottishmummy said.

tiredsville · 01/12/2008 14:48

I agree Scottishmummy, this thread has to be the work of a loon.

That's what I could never work out re the McCann case. Teams of specialist detectives from Portugal, England and America I believe, who had access to all the evidence and case notes could not determine what had happened to MM, but loads of people on Internet forums do?

I think what may really be going on is that you do infact leave your children unattended to go to the pub and when one poster said that she would have you traced and report you, you panicked and said it was all a lie. Although I'm no detective.

pingping · 01/12/2008 15:08

NUTTER!

That was bad form to start a sick thread like this as a joke and if you are leaving your children I hope you get reported.

As for MM who knows what happened to that poor little girl. Lets hope that parents learn from the mistakes of the Mccann's.

HeadFairy · 01/12/2008 15:15

I can't believe you're even asking... there's no minimum legal age for leaving children alone but it is illegal to leave them alone if it places them at risk. What that means in a practical sense is that if something does go wrong, if your house does burn down for example, not only will you have lost your children but you will have to face criminal charges for their deaths/injuries. Try and find a babysitting circle you can join, perhaps through your local Surestart centre? Don't leave them alone, even for 10 minutes.

HeadFairy · 01/12/2008 15:16

Oh I see, it's a joke. Not a very funny one.

I think the kids would be better off with "the character who leaves their kids at home" rather than you.

LittleJingleBellas · 01/12/2008 20:02

Christ, what is this wierd obsession some people have with the McCann's?

There's all sorts of nutters on the interweb. Fancy making up a thread just to slag off the McCanns. Weirdo.

TheSeriousOne · 01/12/2008 20:05

Well, FWIW, I've reported Bamalan.

I'm happy to take you at face value the first time, but you are simply a troll and not a good one at that.

We all have our own opinions on the McCanns but at least be big enough to deal with them directly instead of making up a million stories.

I shan't post on this thread again. I've reported the OP and hopefully others have too.

thenewme · 01/12/2008 20:56

I reported her too and MNHQ are giving her the benefit of the doubt, for now. Since then I see they have deleted something she has posted so let's hope she gets her act together.

I still think she leaves her children alone and I am going to see about reporting her to the police.

purplesponge · 02/12/2008 01:21

I'm glad this was a hoax, but is this really the most productive thing you can find to do with your time?

You've stirred up some very painful emotions and memories for some people who responded to your lies. Says a lot about you as a person, doesn't it?

cheesesarnie · 02/12/2008 13:17

blimey.nuttier than nutty.

ILoveXmas · 02/12/2008 13:34

Oh my god! If you can't afford a babysitter don't go out! If you are willing to risk your childrens safety just for a few beers then you should get real!

ILoveXmas · 02/12/2008 13:35

Just read last posts
