Ms Sparkle - I went to the hospital visit when about to have dc3 by myself as I didn't want to drag the boys around - and i had a few 'oh this must be your first' comments from the other mothers, and when I said 'third' you should have seen them shut up!

This annoyed me too reluctantincubator but I also think it is a bit sad that that is all some parents have to say to someone about their experience of parenting. It is not all about being knackered and not having time to yourself, there are a lot of great moments looking at your wonderful newborn and feeling so proud of them and yourself.

For one reason and another I was awake for 52 hours with the birth of my daughter and got to the point where I was hallucinating I was so tired, but I wouldn't swap watching her sleep in the first few hours after she was born for anything.

I hate the impression some people give that it is payback time and their turn to gloat. I don't look at new parents and think 'Ha ha!'. I just remember all the good and bad bits I experienced - mainly good though.
