Just had a look at an email they sent me and people have actually created there own profiles and added pics of themselves with there prams???!! It won't let me give a link directly to it but its on the bugaboo.com page. AIBU to think its only a bloody pram.

YANBU.

Bugaboo is the pram equivalent of Boden. It grates on me.

hippipotami · 18/11/2008 12:51

It's not a pram dahling, it's a lifestyle'

Grates on me too, but luckily my dc have outgrown prams so I don't have to do the whole 'to bugaboo or not to bugaboo that is the question' thing

ithinkimtallandblonde · 18/11/2008 12:59

I have to say i have one might as well get it out in the open. But i didn't buy it as a bloody accessory thankfully ds is nearly outgrown it and will be glad to see the back of it.
Has anyone ever noticed that people who own one (obviously not myself ) get them out for every occasion. One mum i know recently parked her car outside a restaurant got the pram out put baby in it wheeled it into the restaurant and put the baby in a highchair, what the hell is that about.

I dont think I even know what a bugaboo looks like

CharCharGabor · 18/11/2008 13:02

lol that's hilarious I've only got a sling, can't be bothered with all the buggy hysteria

Penthesileia · 18/11/2008 13:05

Our most expensive mistake. Chuh. We are numpties. DD will not go in it. I take her everywhere in a sling. Sigh. You live and learn.

wideratthehips · 18/11/2008 13:06

i remember when they were the hot new thing when i had ds1 (now 4.5) and i didn't know anything about pushchairs but i wanted one that lay flat for a newborn, was very light (for my poor back) and i could kick closed to sling into the boot of my tiny car...ooh and bump up the steps to our victorian terrace...so i picked a maclaren techno xt...perfect although not luxurious (he was in a sling most of the time anyway)..but i do remember feeling rather down market when i tagged onto a nct group and they all had bugaboos

now that i have a phil and teds (which is packed away until dc3 comes out) where abouts on the scale is that? thats quite boden isn't it?

lisad123 · 18/11/2008 13:09

shoot me now, I have 2! and my mum has one I have to say never brought from new and do have a pram addiction!

francagoestohollywood · 18/11/2008 13:10

I'm watching the videos now

Jun · 18/11/2008 13:11

I have 2 cup holders on mine. One for me and one for DD's babycino.

ithinkimtallandblonde · 18/11/2008 13:13

Wider, that is more boden than boden. Phil and teds have made two under two the new accessory for wanna be yummy mummies, might even contemplate a 3rd myself just so as i can have one

isaidno · 18/11/2008 13:13

lol jun!

chequersandchess · 18/11/2008 13:14

Maybe she took the pram into the restaurant in case the baby neeeded a nap while they were there?

frazzledoldbag34 · 18/11/2008 13:16

I love my Bugaboo. I am a pram addict too though and have been through loads (before the bugaboo).
Sorry - but it is the best of the lot (IMHO anyway).

Not sure about joining a group online though- is that not a bit, ahem, 'keen'?
Might have a look out of interest though.....................

(by the way, I don't like Boden much)

francagoestohollywood · 18/11/2008 13:17

A phil and ted requires that "bags under the eyes" look

needmorecoffee · 18/11/2008 13:19

hahahahah. Went and looked. Its just a pram. Thank goodness there wasn't this pram envy years ago when I had my teens. Ad with dd 4 I haven't had to join in at all as she's never had a pram.

ithinkimtallandblonde · 18/11/2008 13:19

I love mine to frazzled it has been brill, i just don't get the need to be identified with your pram.
Chequers said baby was 11 months and was unlikely to need nap, same mum takes hers everywhere.
Jun, i hadn't thought of that, Genius!!!

wideratthehips · 18/11/2008 13:21

god i probably look a fright in my campers/boden combo plus sammies bag strapped onto the handlebar plus clippykit bag on shoulder...i have morphed into my worst nightmare

bags inder eyes>probably, but i usually go for the carefully deshevelled look!

ithinkimtallandblonde · 18/11/2008 13:21

too, even. Requiring starbucks lol

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 18/11/2008 13:28

Yes carefully deshevelled look was what I aimed to as well... but I was betrayed by my mothercare double buggy

frazzledoldbag34 · 18/11/2008 13:31

ok, so just went on the bugaboo site for a little look at the friends thing........

FREAKY!

I have just seen that they have brought out a special bugaboo car seat now though.....didn't know that (sorry - hijack - am pg again so v interested!)

frazzledoldbag34 · 18/11/2008 13:33

Mine hasn't got any cupholders on it

(note to self : order cupholders immediately!)

(sorry- additional hijack - does anyone use the bugaboo buggyboard - is it any good?)

I had a Bugaboo for my 4.5 year old and loved it. Used it for my 2 year old and then sold it through mumsnet. I never had a 2nd, lighter buggy for hols etc and thought it was worth every penny.

In terms of multi-use my constant favourite is when I used the buggy seat as a deckchair for my daughter when on holiday on the beach. Bloody marvellous! Really don't understand what all the carping is about - each to her own, surely??
