Just had a look at an email they sent me and people have actually created there own profiles and added pics of themselves with there prams???!! It won't let me give a link directly to it but its on the bugaboo.com page. AIBU to think its only a bloody pram.

Mine smells of putrid milk and is covered in food, so I doubt anyone would want to be my friend...

There are more in Sydney than anywhere else in the world I reckon. Probably something to do with the $5000 handout you get when you have a baby. They are all accessorised to the hilt - cup holders, mini gym, nail bar, fridge for the bubbly...

wideratthehips · 18/11/2008 13:52

the boden thing is done in a jokey way..me and the dc wear it because i refuse to take them to shops and try on clothes..waste of a sat. for me...dh refuses to wear it after i bought him a half zip jumper and he said he looked like catalogue man!

someone once said that boden was for children who collect tadpoles in jam jars! (whats wrong with that??)

ithinkimtallandblonde · 18/11/2008 13:57

Baffled, no one's having a go. I have already held my hands up to having one i think its fab from a practical point of view i just don't get why you would feel the need to post a pic of yourself with the pram on there website.
My dc's do also wear boden sometimes but i hate the showy off aspect. I do these things because they are practical i don't think i need to make friends with people because we have the same pram.
Maybe you have missed the point of the OP it wasn't to slag of every owner of a bugaboo.

It seems like everyone in Southfields has a bugaboo

MrsMattie · 18/11/2008 14:05

lol pram huns they need to get out more

helenhismadwife · 18/11/2008 15:17

I have a bugaboo and a P&T no boden though is verbaudet or seargant Major similar

Mum bought the Bugaboo for dd3 it was reduced in mothercare less than half price cant remember for sure why but I think it was something to do with newer models with different wheels being bought out and I have had P&T for a while and it was an absolute necessity especially when the girls were younger they are only 14 months apart

asicsgirl · 18/11/2008 15:27

one of my friends had a VW beetle and other beetle drivers used to wave at her. do bugaboo owners wave at each other across the street?

paow · 18/11/2008 16:02

Fashion victims!!
Mind you, the Stokke people are worse!! haha

TinkerBellesMum · 18/11/2008 16:35

Got to admit restuarants are the main reason I'm buying a pushchair, otherwise I mainly sling. Unfortunately I'm the only one who will use a sling in my family, but I'm the one who has to buy them a pushchair!

Mammina · 18/11/2008 16:53

I am embarrassed to say we have one too, BUT we didn't buy it, MIL insisted. I do get quite embarrassed pushing it around sometimes, & I've tried to make it as scruffy as possible! Bought a light stroller about a month ago to go on holiday, & feel much more comfortable pushing that around.
It IS great for bumping up/down steps though, and cross country, and great steering & works well with one hand.

ithinkimtallandblonde · 18/11/2008 16:55

Asicsgirl, having just returned from a trip to South London i can confirm its more of a smug smile than a wave.

just had a look at the website, how sad!

ipanemagirl · 18/11/2008 17:08

A friend lent me hers so I can enjoy with impunity! I only use it as a pram. It's done two babes already so looks worn in a bit. But great design if you never want to put it in the boot.
But you can watch how to dismantle it on utube!

poppy34 · 18/11/2008 17:30

helen -sargeantmajor is quite boden.. not so sure re vertbaudet .

not sure about joining a group re your pram but I found bugaboo quite heavy and was too much of a numpty to figure out how you got it up/down/let alone put your cupholder on so I bow to anyone boden wearing or not - I'm with whoever posted that bought a maclaren xt (I like to accessorise mine with an iceland bag).

Stokkes always look a bit unstable to me.

wideratthehips · 18/11/2008 18:04

i like the iceland bag accesorised maclaren!

poppy34 · 18/11/2008 20:51

I fitted in really well to my local buggy fit... it made me feel years younger (as I felt just like I did when I was 14 and picked last for netball so out of place was I amongst the smart mums with their sweaty betty kit/bugaboos )

KatieDD · 18/11/2008 21:21

Sorry they are the best, wouldn't buy anything else and I've had them all but yes it's a bit weird to photograph you and your pram.

Jackaroo · 18/11/2008 21:22

That is very very weird. I remember going back to Friends Reunited last year some time and seeing they had a bit on your profile for what car you drive...... seriously. Why do people feel the need to identify with modes of transport?

I have a bugaboo and had the luxury of it being bought for us. I walked everywhere and it was great. I was also lucky enough to live in an area where it was a relatively rarity and no-one had really heard of them, and so I just got people being interested...

Not sure if I'd use it again if it's become such a big deal - wanting to push a pram not make a statement :-)

poppy34 · 18/11/2008 21:29

its weird isn't it how it has become such a statement -more this brand than any other? maybe it just the pram equivalent of taking the piss out of car makes (eg bmw, volvo) .

ScottishMummy · 18/11/2008 21:32

get over it.only a pram.worse than smug-bug owners are the frowners-just-a-pram-ers.no biggie
