There seem to be lots of rather negative posts and topics so to celebrate the fact that it's friday I think we should list 5 things in our lives that make us happy!
(and no, I'm not on prozac, nor have I been at the vodka).

  1. Walking into my dd's room in the morning and being greeted with a huge gummy grin.
  2. Cuddling my dh
  3. Having a sister who's also my best friend
  4. The smell of fresh coffee
  5. A glass of really good red wine

What are yours??

OP posts:
beanieb · 07/11/2008 13:44

GOOD IDEA! I am fed up of being in the dumps.

  1. birds in stormy weather trying to fly
  2. James Taylor
  3. Singing in the car
  4. doing the 'forty, forty five' with my sister
  5. waking up horny.
MeggyMoggy · 07/11/2008 13:47
  1. It's friday
  2. Have just eaten last piece of cake so I have an excuse to make another one tommorrow
  3. My car tyres are now fixed :O
  4. It's sunny
  5. The smell of freshly cut grass.
Callisto · 07/11/2008 13:48

Today?

Looking forward to a HUGE glass of wine with supper tonight.

Looking forward to seeing my parents on Sunday and loving the fact that DD (3.6) is really looking forward to seeing them too.

DD helping me with the tidying and cleaning this morning because she knows how much I hate it.

Looking forward to having DP's family over for pre-fireworks drinks and nibbles tommorrow evening and having some valium in stock for my greyhound so he won't freak.

Sunny day, solvent, healthy, in love with DP still, adore DD, don't need anything else.

(Great thread idea - it's cheered me up just to think about the good things).

Just about everything.

Dunno if it's the citalopram or the brighter weather rgetting back to running but I feel like the character from the Fast Show that thought everything was 'brilliant'

Cheerful loon

  3. Mince pies and clotted cream (am pregnant and greedy as hell at the moment)
  4. It's Friday and I can have my one unit a week tonight.
  5. Christmas is around the corner and DH has loads of time off.
thegirlwiththecurl · 07/11/2008 14:24

  3. Watching dd2 (14mths) dance to cheesy pop
  4. Thinking about Daniel Craig in tight shorts

Today;

  1. My husband
  2. My daughter
  3. My son (they all rank equally high)
  4. The fact that I am probably going to get soaked whilst biking home from work, giving me an excuse to change straigt into my jimjams whilst dh is making a hot water bottle and cosying up on the sofa with all of the three above mentioned.

scaryteacher · 07/11/2008 14:46

Hear, hear, Orm. despite being on citolopram and struggling with lousy depression, my overall feeling is that life is a blessing and being on this beautiful planet, despite the problems, is a privilage.
List would be endless but for starters;

My diet coke crush.
Autumn leaves(seeing and kicking).
Running.
cycling.
Giggling with my DD.
having a good day with my DS.
Soft furry things!

Sorry I'll stop, but you have made me feel a little better as I am swimming upstream at the moment.

shootfromthehip · 07/11/2008 14:51

I'm f'ing miserable all the time. Tree huggers

CatchaStar · 07/11/2008 14:53
  1. My little girl has showered me with hugs and kisses today.

  3. An old friend's coming to visit at the end of the month.
  4. The new place is nearly ready and I'll be moved very soon!
  5. All the trees are beautiful Autumn colours.
more · 07/11/2008 14:53

Hey let's all give Shootfromthehip a big group hug

shootfromthehip · 07/11/2008 14:55

Are you trying to cheer me up? I'm much more shallow than that- nice wine would be my prefered option- feel free to send that over.

Litchick · 07/11/2008 14:59

I try to do this every day. Sometimes, I'll admit, it's hard when the roof has leaked, you've got pmt and the kids have all got allergies.
But today is good because...

  1. The cleaner has been - god love and protect her
  2. Had a meeting at school and was told my DD is a credit to me
  3. Wrote 2000 words of latest book
  4. DH will get back from biz trip tomorrow so some of the weekend can be salvaged.
  5. Have just had a bath in chanel no 5 and smell great.
more · 07/11/2008 15:06

No I was trying to mock you

Sorry but I don't drink, but if you can wait until after x-mas I will let you have some of my usual wine presents that they know I won't drink
