Not just me then..

NomDePlume · 03/11/2008 17:46

I like some of it but I agree that a lot of it is guff

poppy34 · 03/11/2008 17:47

nope... my mother (and I should have known better here as she is queen of tat ) suggested it for xmas shopping.. I'd only been dimly aware of it before (thinking quite rightly it wasn't my cup of tea -now I know )

i like it, but it is so overpriced I havent got any of it

ChloeandAlfie · 03/11/2008 18:07

I like it.... though only have the less chintzy stuff, and I would never do my whole house in it. It is rather dear tho.....

Quattrocento · 03/11/2008 18:08

Explain what it is to me. Words of one syllable. Is it a new barbie doll?

needmorecoffee · 03/11/2008 18:10

whats Kath Kidston? Can't be arsed to go look it up.

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 03/11/2008 18:11

It's ghastly.

Sorry, that's more than one syllable, but it's the best word for it!

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 03/11/2008 18:11

ghastly

squeaver · 03/11/2008 18:11

You're all going to love this/ Almost beyond parody. "I went up the road to buy a pint of milk and came back with an antique quilt". As you do.

skinnygirlNOT · 03/11/2008 18:12

I like some of it but it is so overpriced.
We went to the Cath Kidston store at Bicester (retail village) on Saturday hoping to get some stuff at a more reasonable price- What a con! Prices were only a couple of pounds cheaper.

I like some of it but most totally naff. Have the odd toiletry bag but it must be in small doses. Can't bear it when houses are bedecked in it from top to bottom. Awful.

howdoo · 03/11/2008 18:21

It's overpriced, kitsch rubbish. Similarly, I can't understand why anyone would ever buy Jo Malone - 50 quid for a candle? - er, no thanks...

combustiblelemon · 03/11/2008 18:25

£38. Mmmmmmm. And I get other people to buy them for me.

Liffey · 03/11/2008 18:26

I quite like it but I feel cross with myself for liking it, becuase it harks back to that 1950s little lady happy home making era.

However, I did still need a bag to put the clothes pegs in, so I caved in and bought a CK one but that's it.

Jo Malone Candle, that's hilarious. 12 tealights for a pound you know!

Waltzywotzy · 03/11/2008 18:28

Some bits I like, some I don't.
I would like this little tin for Xmas and I would keep some buttons in it because it says so.

combustiblelemon · 03/11/2008 18:28

I don't really drink- a glass a month maybe- I don't smoke, the candles are my vice.

combustiblelemon · 03/11/2008 18:30

They smell heavenly. Tea lights don't. I can keep one going for months.

NorthernLurker · 03/11/2008 18:32

I like it in small doses. Dd wants a nightie for christmas (poor child has been confined to pjs mostly by an unimaginative mother) and I think I might splash out and get her a Cath Kidston one. We also have a peg bag too and some kids placemats and I have my eye on an apron......

toobusytothink · 03/11/2008 18:33

Personally I think it is the perfect Xmas present for me. Would never buy it for myself as couldn't justify the price, but sort of place I can suggest my father goes to for me. I don't have any of her stuff at the mo though and can imagine some people go overboard and would become very twee.

Don't understand it when people attack certain individual shops - Boden, Cath Kidston. Sounds bit like middle class envy to me. Will be John Lewis next ...

WorzselMummage · 03/11/2008 18:34

Nice for 6 year old girls bedrooms, a bit weird for grown women..

MyEye · 03/11/2008 18:34

I got these for my bday (because I'm now of an age to actively solicit slippers), and they are just gorgeous.

Quattrocento · 03/11/2008 18:35

Oh thanks WFHIT/squeaver

Do people have to wear sunglasses indoors?

pamelat · 03/11/2008 18:40

I like it (I don't have any, its too expensive). Its the interior design equivalent of Boden, nice stuff, too expensive, buying a life style?

Its the playing at grown up look. My SIL is 26 and has lots of it, their house is beautiful and very tidy

I would like a peg bag!
