To think women over the age of 21 should not wear their hair in bunches?

It looks ridiculous.
and not cooky or cute or fun.

I find them very useful for enabling my children to climb up to me when I'm residing in my ivory tower.

Sycamoretree · 24/10/2008 15:39

hmmm,

Pony Tails too..really?

You are therefore saying one can't have long hair over the age of 30.

Stick in the muds. Go be old and boring somewhere else.

Flounce.

sagacious · 24/10/2008 15:40

I occasionally wear very low ones at the gym (ponytail gets in the way of stomach crunches)

I did buy a hairband for the same purpose but unfortunately the first time I wore it got confused and placed it in front of my ears ala star trek which is infinately worse IMO.

childrenofthecornsilk · 24/10/2008 15:44

Long hair over 30 is allowed.

puppydavies · 24/10/2008 15:44

oh dear i appear to have missed the 30th birthday handout of calf length skirts and sensible bobs can i get mine backdated?

shootfromthehip · 24/10/2008 15:45

Oh nooooo, I am a huge fan of the post 21 bunch and even moreso with the post 30 ponytail. With my sexy wellies there's nothing that says country, funky mummy better than bunches.

DoubleBluff · 24/10/2008 15:45

Like the sunbathing beret look!
VEry fetching.
A low pony is chic.
A frnch plait is chic.
Plaited Bunches??!! Yikes!

i think my popsocks must have gone to the wrong address too

PuzzleRocks · 24/10/2008 15:46

Well said Sycamoretree, come and be gorgeous and young at heart with me and Ffrecklefface.

puppydavies · 24/10/2008 15:47

own up double bluff you've got my state-issue pack-a-mac as well haven't you. middle age horder

shootfromthehip · 24/10/2008 15:47

I will take exception to the short skirt rule though- after 2 lots of breastfeeding my boobs are ruined- I'd be a asexual if I didn't get my legs out occasionally.

AuntieMaggie · 24/10/2008 15:49

should i take my bunches out then?

and whats wrong with wearing short skirts past 30? i don't but have friends that are utterly gorgeous and look great in short skirts.

childrenofthecornsilk · 24/10/2008 15:50

Because 20 year olds do it so much better.

DoubleBluff · 24/10/2008 15:50

I am not middle aged!
I wear short skirts - and I ma well over 30!!
Am quite funky.
Am just having a bit of a laugh with this thread to warm things up a bit!!

muggglewump · 24/10/2008 15:50

I have long hair and wear short skirts, I just don't have ponytails.
The low ones don't look too bad but the middle of the head bobbing around type to me look ridiculous

BouncingTurtleSkulls · 24/10/2008 15:52

Oh God, another one of those pointless threads stressing over random person's appearance. You only think that way because of cultural influences.

When I am old and grey I'm going to wear stripey socks, my long grey hair in bunches and wear a purple mini skirt. And if I look ridiculous, so what? What's it got to do with you?

YABU. And very boring & conformist as well.

Cammelia · 24/10/2008 15:53

Pony tail, one plait, loose bun.

Wear all of those. Am obv old enough to be your mother otherwise you wouldn't have that point of view.

Also wore short skirts until late 30's.

I know several (slim) women in their 40's who wear short skirts and look very good.

OrmIrian · 24/10/2008 15:56

Short skirts - no problem depending on the legs. Bunches are just things that little girls wear. Like DIsney Princess backpacks and pink stripy tights. Sorry

DoubleBluff · 24/10/2008 15:57

BTS - totally pointless thread.
Started becaues I couldnt find any threads interresting enough to post on!

OP posts:
Sycamoretree · 24/10/2008 15:58

You are all just jealous because you would look like this if your hair was in bunches.

Where as I, of course, would look like this.

Cammelia · 24/10/2008 15:58

BTS, you will look like Winnie The Witch

tigermoth · 24/10/2008 16:01

I used to wear my hair in bunches a lot of the time for a couple of years in my 40s. That was some time ago.

I still wear bunches occasionally - but only when my hair is quite short, and only with discreet elasticated bands.

Why? I don't suit ponytails for some reason (honestly!) so if I want my hair neatly off my face, bunches are better.

Sycamoretree · 24/10/2008 16:02

Winnie The Witch had GREAT legs.

Cremolatorium · 24/10/2008 16:02

I would lower thta age to 5 actually

Sycamoretree · 24/10/2008 16:04
