To have a glass of wine at 1:30pm?

I have been exhuasted for weeks, have had no time to myself, DD has had serious sleep issues, I have been working over 30 hours a week and getting up at 5am, plus broken sleep.

I have today off work and do not have to drive anywhere for the rest of the day.
DD is now napping and I am going to have a much needed soak in the bath, in bubbles that have been sat waiting to be used for 3 weeks. I have a nice bottle of white, opened already as DH and I had a glass yesterday but I was too tired to enjoy.

I quite fancy, sitting in the tub, covered in bubbles, glass of ice cold wine, and some incense?

AIBU to this, in the afternoon, on a week day?

Just to clarify - the bubbles are not yet in the bath, not been sat in the bath for 3 weeks, in their own tub on the shelf. Just in case you thought I have already been on the sauce...

paddingtonbear1 · 15/10/2008 13:30

expatinscotland · 15/10/2008 13:31

why on Earth not?

i used to love having a glass at lunch.

before DS came along and made me nothing but sick for the past 37 weeks.

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 15/10/2008 13:31

Not unreasonable at all

Enjoy your bubbles and your wine.......anyone who says YABU is just jealous

CherryChapstick · 15/10/2008 13:31

It would be rude not to.

frasersmummy · 15/10/2008 13:34

It sound like a heavenly way to spend a week day afternoon.....

PavlovtheWitchesCat · 15/10/2008 13:34

LOL justkeepingswimming!

It is running now, don't worry I am not wasting time...I have even cleared the house this morning, so when I get out it will be nice and tidy around me. I hate having a nice soak, feeling all clean and relaxed, stepping into a messy house. Don't know why, just sort of undoes all the stress releif I guess.

I have just put on some morroccon musk, and some jasmine incense in the bathroom. AND I bought new fluffy towells the other week, which are clean.

alibubbles · 15/10/2008 13:38

Go on, do it, you know you want to!

I am having a tough time with a minded child at the moment, I just got her pudding out of the fridge and thought, mmmm, that Sauv blanc looks tempting!

They are all asleep now, all four under 2 years of age!

I am having an activia yoghurt and some maltesers instead.

Don't let that stop you!

JustKeepSwimming · 15/10/2008 13:40

alibubbles - i did exactly that at lunchtime getting all the healthy food from the fridge
will def be having a glass later...

jumpingbeans · 15/10/2008 13:43

You just know, as soon as you get your big toe in the bath your dd will wake

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/10/2008 13:50

sounds heaven

you can snuggle in the warmth of the bubbles and pretend you are somewhere sunny in the sea

am so at moment

remember whatever the time is here SOMEWHERE in the world it is 6pm and therefore it is cocktail hour

JustKeepSwimming · 15/10/2008 13:51

how many of us are vicariously enjoying Pavlov's bath?

LuLuBai · 15/10/2008 14:02

Aaaaaaaaah so jealous [env].

If I weren't pregnant I'd be raiding Pavlov's fridge for that chilled white.

rebelmum1 · 15/10/2008 14:16

sounds perfectly civilised if you ask me

PsychoAxeMurdererMum · 15/10/2008 14:18

I feel the need for wine too, but I still have driving to do, so will hold off.

seeing as you don't, then go for it!

PavlovtheWitchesCat · 15/10/2008 14:22

The oxford dictionary version of decadent

'2. luxuriously self-indulgent'.

THAT is how I am going to describe the last 30 mins, before DD thumped on her door.

I soaked in blue water smothered in bubbles (Floracol Lavendor with a dash of Radox bath salts - could not decide which to have). Drank some Macon Villages. Washed hair. Conditioned hair and left it on for a while. Laid back some more, drank some more wine. Used some clinique goodies from Bonus Time that I have not got to use for a while (plus some new stuff ). Laid back for a while longer, drank more wine. Did Arms and legs, glugged back rest of wine, then bang bang on DDs bedroom door.

Perfect timing.

I am now sat here in my towel with a refill of wine and DD is quietly and happily playing by herself in her room. Have not even been in to see her, after yelling down the hallway 'be with you in a minute princess'.

Last night/this morning 1:30am I had had enough. I told DH to shoot me if I ever said I was broody ever again. Sigh again. It is all a distant memory!

And yes I dreamt of being out at sea, in the carribean, or some other such place with warm waters...

I could have done with some maltesers though...

I had my first glass of wine in over a year, on Sat night. It was lovely!

GColdtimer · 15/10/2008 14:27

Oh, you have just given me an idea. DD at nursury, MIL just offered to pick her up at 4.30 for me. Have finished all the work I need to do this week (self-employed) and have cleaned the house from top to bottom. Can I? I was going to do all our filing but can I really have a great big bubbly bath with a glass of wine instead? Please...
