firemen and school runs..............

psychomum5 · 30/09/2008 09:03

do you think they do it on purpose???

do firemen decide to all go out while it is school-run times just because they know that the mums at the school gates will all go as they drive past??

BUT

they were rather mighty fine looking

Firemen fantasise about MN's as much as MN's fantasise about firemen.
And who can blame them?!

brimfull · 30/09/2008 09:09

the firemen round here are kak

mumoverseas · 30/09/2008 09:10

mmmmmm nice thought!
funnily enough, I actually saw some firemen this morning after I dropped DD at nursery driving around our compound. sadly, I'm in Saudi Arabia so they weren't mighty fine looking and somehow their uniform worn with flip flops doesn't quite do it for me!

psychomum5 · 30/09/2008 09:12

ewww.....firemen in flip-flops. nope, does not 'do it' for me that pic now in my head!

JP, you reckon??

ggirl, move to b'mouth. they are rather nice

I went out with a fireman once in my youth

Divine.

He couldn;t actually string a sentance together which proved to be a bit of a problem once you're looked your fill so I ended it. DOH! what was I thinking?

psychomum5 · 30/09/2008 09:19

lol Kew........

so tell me, are the fantasies good now you look back at your

I think he genuinely had the best body I've ever seen in real life.

Bugger now I've dribbled on my keyboard.

arfishy · 30/09/2008 09:21

Oh firemen .

Although I think Naval Officers are also .

Did I mention that DP was in the navy for 18 years?

Anyhoo, my best friend at school was a nurse, and at her nurses college (many moons ago) they used to regularly set off the fire alarms (at the right shift) so the object of her desire would end up scrambling to their quarters.

She married him

psychomum5 · 30/09/2008 09:24

oh no, do not mention naval officers.

damn, now I have more fantasies I cannot fulfill

Merlin · 30/09/2008 09:26

I have a friend who is dating a fireman and he arranged for a few of us mums and kids to have a tour of the station which of course they loved! Even had a go with the hoses too!

Apparently, one his colleagues took a bit of a shine to me and offered an affair if I was interested!!!!!!

Of course I'm hugely flattered .... .... I think

Kewclotter · 30/09/2008 09:28

oh and I spent many years with a partner who was army officer.

On reflection there isn;t a man who wouldn;t benefit from being forced into a uniform...

sameagain · 30/09/2008 09:29

All men think mum's at the school gate go swoon over them - the Dad's at work just love it when they have to do the school run. Apparently we're all so bored, we'll take any excitement we can get (I've never told them they're right )

Even the dustmen deliberately turn up at school time around here - although that might be so they can cause maximum chaos with their enormous truck

mumoverseas · 30/09/2008 09:32

mmmmm would depend very much on the uniform! think about it girls, porters uniforms, milkmen..... not quite the same is it?
Kewclotter and Merlin, do you have phone numbers for these lovely firemen that you could pass on????????????????

psychomum5 · 30/09/2008 09:34

oooh and scrubs can look rather swish on the pretty men in greys anatomy.

altho on real men they look like overgrown PJ's according to flame....

Drusilla · 30/09/2008 09:38

My sis is fairly senior in the Fire Brigade and her county includes one or two big seaside towns. The firemen often go for a ride round town in the engine on hot summer days to try and make the ladies swoon at them!

arfishy · 30/09/2008 09:58

at Kew and the fireman.

They're not quite the same in Australia.

Funnily enough all the binmen are quite hot here, down near Bondi Beach.

They are all students/Phys Ed graduates/Surfers and they all wear skintight singlets and shorts and jog along the side of the bin vans and use the dustbins as weights.

cheshirekitty · 30/09/2008 10:02

Hubby used to wear flying suit when he was in RAF. Nice and tight over the bits that matter!!!

Stunk of hydraulic fluid though, so kinda killed the romance.

Overmydeadbody · 30/09/2008 10:04

mumoverseas you're in Saudi! Whereabouts? I grew up there

arfishy · 30/09/2008 10:07

OMG. You have just reminded me about the Lifeguards.

They all wear budgie smugglers with 'BONDI' written on the bum and perform heroic actions to save all the tourists.

Bramshott · 30/09/2008 10:10

A fire engine drove past the end of my drive yesterday - down a very quiet country lane. I think they were doing it deliberately to distract me from the usual 6pm mayhem in my house - it was all I could do not to run after them down the road shouting "take me with you!"

katylou25 · 30/09/2008 10:22

Oh this reminds me - In my (much) younger days I was pulled over by a police car for "driving without due car and attention" cos I mounted the curb whilst eyeing up a gorup of firemen in my mirror! Thankfully they knew what I was doing and only pulled me to take the mick - "does it have to be fireman or will any uniform do love" - was way up in the welsh valleys on a wet day so noone around think they must have been bored!

HRHSaintMamazon · 30/09/2008 10:23

how sad is this.... i was without car for 2 months. i walked to a bus stop 2 stops down as it was opposite the fire sttion.

i told myself it was in an effort to lose weight but i dont think even i was convinced by that

psychomum5 · 30/09/2008 10:35

seems then that the firemen are right, and we DO ALL habour 'firemen fantasies'....

OP posts:
coolkat · 30/09/2008 10:44

DH is a fireman! Novelty wears off when he comes home stinking of smoke and sweat, although still looks mighty fine in his kit!

mumoverseas · 30/09/2008 11:15
