fuming mad at school photos

ethanchristopher · 22/09/2008 21:54

i go to a follow school which means there is an infant/nursery school, junior school and secondary school that are all next door to each other and have the same name e.t.c and every year when the school photos take place and the siblings from any of the 3 schools can have pics taken together e.t.c.

but me and my little sister (im secondary shes infant) can have our photo taken but not with ds (whos in nursery) and yet my friend can have her picture taken with her little brother who is in nursery

reason being that my ds is not my brother

AIBU or are they just sticking REALLY CLOSELY to the title "sibling photos"

i probably am being unreasonable reading that back...

onestone - if my mum was like 35 and wasnt at the school (obviously) then of course i wouldnt want her in my school photo

but personally i think its going to be different with our relationship cause we're so close in age, its an odd scenario...

i dunno, but i got the photo done anyway and now it will sit (well soon anyway) on my desk for all to see. we're very close as a family anyway so imho its lovely that we're all together in this photo!!

Awww i'm so glad it worked out for you EC, cant wait to see the photo and thanks to you and cheesesarnie for the comments about my bubs

I really dont understand the people on this thread getting all het up about people wanting family photos done at school. If you dont agree with it, no one is forcing you, god knows i wouldnt have my ugly mug on my kids photos . But its nice to have the option

psychomum5 · 24/09/2008 21:54

ethan, he will love it and you will treasure it in years to come.

it will be proof to you and him how well you have done raising him and still continuing with your education, and it is testament to YOUR wonderful mum that you can do this.

feel proud, very very proud.

I have a 14yr old DD right now, and I have to say, if she were in your shoes, I would be heartbroken that her life might go in a different direction to the one I dream of for her......

but

if it did, and she turned out to be as articulate as you, and as grounded as you, and as proud of her child as you clearly are of your DS, I would be SO proud of her and would stand by her while she continued to grow into the wonderful woman I see she could become (and you will become also, of that I am sure).

and you know what, when you are 35 and he is 21, you will both be able to look back and say "wow, we had a hard start, but look at us now, we ROCK"

TinkerBellesMum · 24/09/2008 22:02

ethanchristopher - I love the effect you've had on Mumsnet - you've brought a breath of fresh air!

(how old are you exactly, if you don't mind me asking, I'm 30 [nosey emoticon])

You haven't made it on Mumsnet untill you've be called a troll, and had some messages deleted (which hardly ever happens)

And WELL DONE for keeping on with your education and keeping your baby. If I were your mum, I'd be proud of you.

LynetteScavo · 24/09/2008 22:06

Opps - I'm actually 36,

psychomum5 · 24/09/2008 22:07

.....anytime.

bloomingfedup · 24/09/2008 22:07

One

I am . what a nasty thing to say. So lets get this straight - you think that EC should have mudered her child instead of doing the fab job she is.How the fuck do you know what you would have done?

EC - ignore comments like this. Probably jealous.
