To think smoking should be BANNED???

Or it at least should be taken back into the pubs where it doesnt effect me, they cant all sit together in their deseise ridden smoke.

I am SOOO sick of walking behind someone who is smoking or walking through their putrid cloud of smoke, i hate it for my DS to, the smell makes me SICK, and i mean it actually makes me feel like i want to vomit!

Why cant smokers just realise how much they stink, you can smell a smoker a mile off.

I also hate how when someone speaks to you in the street, if they are smoking they will put their cigerette behind their back whilst talking to DS, like that stops him from breathing in you cancer fumes!!!

I think if someone is going to smoke they should at least do it where its not going to have an effect on anybody else (like in their own homes)

i dont think iabu, i think the smokers are v. much bu to expect everybody else to put up with their disgustingness - i think its v selfish.

i am not a 'posh saintly type' i am a new single mum who just thinks that the smell of smoke is disgusting! i think it should be kept behind closed doors/!

I bet if i took a big smelly shit on the street you would have something to say about that!

and by the way of course i am a sahm, my son is only 8months old

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 16/09/2008 18:01

my husband goes to pubs and doesn't drink.

he sometimes goes to play snooker.

i go in there, am pregnant, to sing and play my guitar with a bunch of people who are interested in Scottish folk and traditional music, and don't drink.

or smoke.

matildax · 16/09/2008 18:01

YABU.
however i understand the smell making you quite sick. (i smoke by the way) but when pregnant i pretty much gave up, and the smell of smoke and smokers who have just had a a cigarette is quite gross. however, your op is pointless, people are always going to smoke, just like people are always going to drink, swear fight,(unfortunately) etc, and most of the time in public.
if this offends you so much, then simple.... never go out!!

2shoes · 16/09/2008 18:01

wow the poor op, fancy only having to worry about this

skydancer1 · 16/09/2008 18:01

Ok you win the PMT writing award. You could take this one up a step further though, like we should all be rounded up, shot and shifted into a large mass grave where the toxins can't seep back up again .

whats a sahm ?

misdee · 16/09/2008 18:03

YABU

i love that smoking is banned from indoor places. means that if/when dd1 is old enough to go into a pub for a drink she can breathe easily and not worry about dying.

bloomingfedup · 16/09/2008 18:04

TBF - AIBU is the PMT thread. Go girl - vent - let it out.

MaureenMLove · 16/09/2008 18:04

Oh damn it! Another vice of mine. I only stayed at home for 3 months with DD!

southeastastra · 16/09/2008 18:04

you say you want it kept behind closed doors, then you say you want it banned which is it?

and what if smokers have children? you'd prefer them to still smoke in their own homes? not outside at all!

lol

bbq smoke gives me a headache BAN THEM I SAY
