Or it at least should be taken back into the pubs where it doesnt effect me, they cant all sit together in their deseise ridden smoke.

I am SOOO sick of walking behind someone who is smoking or walking through their putrid cloud of smoke, i hate it for my DS to, the smell makes me SICK, and i mean it actually makes me feel like i want to vomit!

Why cant smokers just realise how much they stink, you can smell a smoker a mile off.

I also hate how when someone speaks to you in the street, if they are smoking they will put their cigerette behind their back whilst talking to DS, like that stops him from breathing in you cancer fumes!!!

I think if someone is going to smoke they should at least do it where its not going to have an effect on anybody else (like in their own homes)

i dont think iabu, i think the smokers are v. much bu to expect everybody else to put up with their disgustingness - i think its v selfish.

We are defensive because people like you are so offensive. Of course it's unhealthy for the smoker. Many things are, but not to you outside despite your opinion.

You will not complain to car drivers who are a genuine danger to you and your DS when outside will you? You will say "that's necessary so I don't mind in the least if it poisons my kids" but the real reason is that you know you will be alone against a huge majority.

Personally I haven't smoked outside in years, but I reserve the right to and if you don't like it then tough.

why does it has to be spent on anyhting like that cant you just save it and then when you see something you really want, you will be able to afford it.

and don;t forget we live in a polluted environment. The science says there is ZERO risk to people exposed to haphazard passive smoke. You are far more likely to see problems coming from living in a city or large town/beside a main road than the odd wiff of a tab

I would quite like to see a smoking ban for the sake of future generations. I'm not intolerant of smokers (my DH is one and would love to give up), but who does it benefit apart from the corporate giants? If it was illegal, those that really want to smoke would find a way to do it but it would help the millions who are sucked into it at a young age with all the health and expense implications of it.
There's nothing wrong with discussing radical ideas. A smoking bad in pubs would once have been considered very radical. In this month's Easy Living, Liz Hurley said that many top cancer specialists think that one day alcohol may be illegal due to its health implications (I think she said generally rather than just cancer patients but could be wrong).

do you smell it that often when walking through town then? I can understand you walking threw it once or twice on a trip out, but not enough to get so irrate as to start a thread about it?

IMO in ten years time or so smoking will be so socially unacceptable that future generations will look at it alot differently then society today. Look how much smoking laws have changed recentely, it will only get more strict.

i dont usually smell it that often but i had a busy day today and it seemed like everywhere i walked there was a smoker walking in front of me, and it does make me feel SICK, nauseous and lightheaded.

no, it doesnt matter that i dont like the smell, just the the smoker can have his/her right to smoke

I smoke. I don't have constant colds or coughs, good lung capacity, white teeth. The smell doesnt linger on me as I have to smoke in the open air. Sorry but not everyone gets ill through smoking.

I know you wish we'd all die soon but its not the case. Won't affect your little DD to pass an open air smoker either.

I think it lingers on some people more that others. I've been told many times that I don't smell of smoke even if I did it wouldn't stop me doing something that is perfectly legal.

It doesn't linger on your breath either. That's another misconception. I know as I've kissed smokers when I've given up for months.
