To want DD's first sentences to be a little bit more 'lovely'

She is almost 2.

Her current favourites are
'Get off that'
'Don't do that, ever'
'That's not funny'
'I want to'

What on earth does this say about my parenting

She also stands with her hand on her hip, and wags her finger. I swear she doesn't get it from me.

Dd's first word was "no". Then came "no way".

DS' first word was No.

When he was about 2, DS1 was found sitting on the floor talking to DS2 and saying 'How many times do I have to tell you, we have to cook the carrots first' in a v world-weary voice.

Both of them now enoy shouting:

'Do it RIGHT NOW!' at the tops of their voices.

dd started coming out with 'it's not fair' remarkably early on
(in appropriately whingey tone)
has now graduated to 'it's not my fault'

last week she kept saying 'kill the ladies' which I found slightly alarming
oh and apparently I am a pink power ranger

My daughter had a perfectly correct sentence and the longest at that time that was...
"No wait lady, stupid bloody idiot". The joys of having older brothers!! She can also makes noises as if she is going to vomit and burp and likes to say that people are fat and name the odd bit of the anatomy!
The bad words got such a reaction of laughter from the boys (who had been told off in the first place hence her copying) that she said it a lot. We have replaced it with Honeybunny, telling her that this is the worst word ever .

lol @ this thread! 'Twas only the other day that ds uttered his first (almost) sentence which was..... "willy alone" as in "leave your.."

Yesterday DD (nearly 2) growled "get off!" when I went to pick her up. Then when I said "That's not very nice!" she fluttered her eyelashes and said "everybody get off the train"

Well done your DD though. DS is 2 in December and can say bin, poo and plan B amongst other limited things.

Oh. Nice.

I constantly get uninvited to her party. As in, "You're not coming to my party now." Said with lip pushed out to a ludicrous degree.

As her Father who is almost certainly partially bankrolling her party ins is definitely going to be doing most of the donkey work, I find this irritating.

DS's first (nearly 10 years ago, sob) were 'Habye doh' and 'Habye tow', meaning 'goodbye dog' and 'goodbye cow'. we lived in the countryside.

Now we live in London.

It was all downhill after that

my friends dd 2 was with me for the day today,

her song of the day was

My mum and dad swear that my first sentence was "I can talk!"

Broccoli - reminds me of the classic my DS2 wrote a while back...

DS1's first sentence (well, clause I suppose) was 'My bum noise', said with great pride (he'd just farted in the bath)

ohhh my twelve legs , dd2 also does the vomit sound and then creases up. (Can you tell thats what shes been hearing the last week or so here)!
However mummy doesnt like it very much as I think it sounds like shes choking

Ive snorted reading these though. Needed a good ole snort laugh after my rubbish few nights of ill!

dd2 is also 2 and has started saying

want it now, now, now
gedid
and when doing her nappy likes to say "properly" , as in is it on right!!!

and the NO , in that spoilt princess characature kind of way!

She only started speaking like this the last few weeks , and its having us all in fits! I forgot this is the funiest and cutest stage with speech!

DD has been marching round the house this evening saying 'Hot poo three four, Hot poo three four' she found it hilarious!
