To put this under the windscreen wiper of cars parked where they should not near school!

Infant school is at the top of a tiny road only four houses long. It comes of a road that is residential and very long becasue it is circular. The school has for years been sending out notes asking people dropping children off not to park in the tiny road. The school has an agreement with the pub at the top of the road that parents can park in their car park and walk down to school.

There is a problem - school has provided solution.

So why do some parents think that they have the right to put my child and every one else at risk becasue they couldn't be bothered to leave early enough to walk the five minutes rom the pub car park.

If cars are parked in this tiny road - fire engines and emergency services can not reach the school.

I have watched this go on for years - and today witnessed four cars in theis tiny road - two parked opposite each other and even the other two could not then get out! So no way would an emergency vehicle get through.

I think the message needs to driven home hard hitting - than polite but firm messages from school.

Would IBU to put the following print out, that I have made up on any offending cards?

I wish Head teavcher would send it to parents but I bet she wouldn't in case children saw it.
I?m sorry Mummy.

Sorry that they didn?t care enough about me to take note of the warnings.
Sorry that they didn?t care enough about their own children to listen.
Sorry that they didn?t think that there would ever be a real danger.

I?m sorry Mummy

That you can?t hear me talk to you anymore
That you can?t feel my arms wrapped around you anymore
That you can?t feel my wet kiss on your cheeks

Why Mummy?

Didn?t they listen?
Didn?t they read?
Didn?t they care?

They Tried Mummy.

The firemen tried to get us out Mummy
They heard us screaming Mummy
They heard us calling for you Mummy

But they couldn?t

They couldn?t reach us Mummy
They couldn?t help us Mummy
They wanted to so badly Mummy

Do you know why they couldn?t Mummy

Because there were people who parked where they shouldn?t have Mummy
The fire engine couldn?t get passed Mummy
The cars were in the way Mummy

We died Mummy.

summerdressesandlacyboots · 12/09/2008 21:20

LS that's just plain nasty.

bythepowerofgreyskull · 12/09/2008 21:24

If it is so important for people to not park in the road you should lobby the council for double yellow lines.

LynetteScavo · 12/09/2008 22:02

summerdressesandlacyboots, what did I say that was nasty?

surprise · 12/09/2008 22:52

I hate people who disregard safety and park where they shouldn't. We have big plastic banners outside our school saying don't park on the yellow zig zags, but they still do. Selfish bastards. Just because they can't be bothered to walk any extra 50 yards. Ditto people who park in disabled spaces when they're quite able to walk. I've often thought of leaving notes under wipers to try to get them to actually THINK about what they're doing. If it's true what you say and there's no emeregency exit then you're absolutely right to try to stop them. If it's a question of the neighbours just not liking people parking outside their houses, then that's a different matter - don't buy a house near a school.

Starbear · 12/09/2008 22:56

JayneRae, Sweetheart They've all be rotten to you. Lets us have wicked thoughts that their bones will rot from lack of exercise, price of petrol goes up and their children will have smelly farts from crap food. Then walk to school knowing your children will be Olympiads.

"No, not a troll, Jaynerae has posted losts of dullish posts."

Wow you must be a nasty person to have to have it pointed out.

QOD · 12/09/2008 23:31

I wouldn't do the note HOWEVER, my daughters school burnt down ............

LynetteScavo · 12/09/2008 23:32

Oh, please!

I have posted many, many dull posts on Mumsnet.(Do take a look) Infact, I doubt I've ever thrilled anyone.

My point was that jaynerae is not a troll.

I am a nasty, nasty person. Watch out there are others like me around.

summerdressesandlacyboots · 12/09/2008 23:37

Well then just say "Jaynerae is not a troll" rather than kicking her further when she's down by saying that

If you think your own posts are dull that's fine, who cares? Dont posts them then.Nobody has been rude enough to say that to you on this thread

LynetteScavo · 12/09/2008 23:45

I'll post what I like, thanks, very much!
In the grand scheme of this thread, I hardly think saying someone has posted losts of dullish post is being nasty.

Talking about dummies and bedtime routines is dullish and not very troll like, IMO.

summerdressesandlacyboots · 12/09/2008 23:51

No I am sure "in the grand scheme of things" it's not very important - but this isnt the grand scheme it's Mumsnet and to some people calling what others have to say "dull" is nasty and uncalled for.

Seems you can give it but not take it

LynetteScavo · 12/09/2008 23:55

Eh?

summerdressesandlacyboots · 13/09/2008 00:00

Which bit of my plain as a pikestaff post was beyond you?

summerdressesandlacyboots · 13/09/2008 00:03

Actually Im not really bothered.Made my point as simply as I could. Night!

LynetteScavo · 13/09/2008 07:55

FairLadyRantALot · 13/09/2008 08:15

is this the time we all should chant:
Fight!Fight!Fight!

Tittybangbang · 13/09/2008 09:05

Oh god, just read the OP and suddenly imagined Catherine Tate dressed as a school girl reciting the verses in a pitiful but also slightly menacing voice.

To the OP - if it worries you that much phone the council and get them to send a traffic warden down. Tell them there's rich pickings to be had.
