To put this under the windscreen wiper of cars parked where they should not near school!

Infant school is at the top of a tiny road only four houses long. It comes of a road that is residential and very long becasue it is circular. The school has for years been sending out notes asking people dropping children off not to park in the tiny road. The school has an agreement with the pub at the top of the road that parents can park in their car park and walk down to school.

There is a problem - school has provided solution.

So why do some parents think that they have the right to put my child and every one else at risk becasue they couldn't be bothered to leave early enough to walk the five minutes rom the pub car park.

If cars are parked in this tiny road - fire engines and emergency services can not reach the school.

I have watched this go on for years - and today witnessed four cars in theis tiny road - two parked opposite each other and even the other two could not then get out! So no way would an emergency vehicle get through.

I think the message needs to driven home hard hitting - than polite but firm messages from school.

Would IBU to put the following print out, that I have made up on any offending cards?

I wish Head teavcher would send it to parents but I bet she wouldn't in case children saw it.
I?m sorry Mummy.

Sorry that they didn?t care enough about me to take note of the warnings.
Sorry that they didn?t care enough about their own children to listen.
Sorry that they didn?t think that there would ever be a real danger.

I?m sorry Mummy

That you can?t hear me talk to you anymore
That you can?t feel my arms wrapped around you anymore
That you can?t feel my wet kiss on your cheeks

Why Mummy?

Didn?t they listen?
Didn?t they read?
Didn?t they care?

They Tried Mummy.

The firemen tried to get us out Mummy
They heard us screaming Mummy
They heard us calling for you Mummy

But they couldn?t

They couldn?t reach us Mummy
They couldn?t help us Mummy
They wanted to so badly Mummy

Do you know why they couldn?t Mummy

Because there were people who parked where they shouldn?t have Mummy
The fire engine couldn?t get passed Mummy
The cars were in the way Mummy

We died Mummy.

I just feel the tone of the replies is unecessarily nasty. If Jaynerae's OP is indeed genuine and not a joke, she's clearly not in a good place at the moment for whatever reason. None of us knows what else is going on with her and why she's so wound up so to effectively point anc laugh, gang up and scorn, is just nasty.

bloomingfedup · 12/09/2008 16:17

Spider

Its AIBU - its a bitchfest.

Spidermama · 12/09/2008 16:20

Don't think the humour is lost on me by any means. Esp the Carrie link and Jay if you can get past the nastiness and have a laugh it might even help you.

But yo're obviously pretty wound up about stuff at the moment so be kind to yourself and best wishes.

jojostar · 12/09/2008 16:20

this nasty...good job she didnt mention ex wives in the post, christ she would have been hunted down and shot....

TheSmallClanger · 12/09/2008 16:20

YABU and a bit insane to shove hysterical, bad poetry under people's windscreen wipers. What if someone caught you doing it? Would you really want to be known as a parking-obsessed loony? There is a potty old man who does this sort of thing outside one of DH's workplaces, where he sometimes has to leave his car by the road. He puts up notices saying he is obstructing a gate which is constantly in use, when there is no gate for about half a mile! No-one takes him seriously. DH sometimes brings the notes home to laugh at.

YANBU to be cross about other people's inconsiderate parking, but don't get hysterical about it.

wahwah · 12/09/2008 16:22

That 'poem' brought tears to my eyes, thank you for that moment of light relief.

combustiblemelon · 12/09/2008 16:24

Thank you so much. I've had a really shitty day and this had made me laugh so much. Especially at the 'key the cars' and the death being no excuse for bad grammar comments.

OP, call the council and get the traffic wardens in.

Fllllight · 12/09/2008 16:25

is this for real?

LynetteScavo · 12/09/2008 16:25

The poem is ridiculous IMO.

Jaynerae, have you tried taking this matter up with the police?n Police out side our school this term are leaf letting cars, and yellow lines are being considered.

Does the school "name and shame" people by printing their number plates in the newsletter?

thesockmonsterofdoom · 12/09/2008 16:27

OMG I can't be bothered to read this whole thread but you are mad, and that is the sickest thing I have read in a long time

fire engines couldn't get past not passed.

Squonk, please remember that the "poem" is being written by a child. A dead child. Don't you think that under those circumstances that picking on the spelling is a bit harsh

how did a dead child write the poem???

2beornot2be · 12/09/2008 17:07

LOL @ 2shoes

LynetteScavo · 12/09/2008 17:11

I have some questions.

Where was Mummy during the fire?
Why did she not get the children out of the house?
Did she not have smoke alarms fitted?
Had she not planned an escape route in case of fire?

I think Mummy needs a whole new peom about fire safety.

combustiblemelon · 12/09/2008 17:14

I think mummy took the batteries out of the smoke alarm to use in her mp3 player to block out the bad poetry from her child.

shootfromthehip · 12/09/2008 17:14

Think the poor dead wean died at school
