To think that my Boden Rainyday Jacket might be suitable to wear in the rain?

Because it's not and I'm soggy around the neck and shoulders.

Have emailed Boden to whine pathetically.

I don't think that it has been designed for this sort of rain...

I don't think it's been designed for any sort of rain as it's leaked every time I've worn it in the rain. I certainly wasn't beaming like the model in the catalogue.

According to the copywriter "experience has taught us to be prepared for rain" Well, you won't be prepared in this coat.

My friend designs for Boden can't wait to smugly tell her....hardehar

StellaDallas · 02/09/2008 14:15

I need to sew the buttons back on mine before I can test it in a deluge. Was thinking about writing to complain about that.

SoupDragon · 02/09/2008 14:16

It looks lovely mind you, it's just useless. Like Sienna Miller and Keira Knightly.

giraffemum · 02/09/2008 14:25

I was also testing mine this am- fine for short, light showers not so good for actual rain. Useless for snow i discovered earlier in the year. And yes it does look lovely but still doesn't make me look like SM or KK

andiem · 02/09/2008 15:13

mine lets the rain in too and I had to sew the buttons back on shall we do a mass complain to jonny like we did about the american sale

mehgalegs · 02/09/2008 15:19

I am waiting for my Swedish one to arrive. I am hoping it will be the 'new' boden rainyday coat.

Deff start mass complaint. a raincoat that leaks is not fit for purpose. Get a refund.

Oi Ronald - who rattled your cage?

Lauriefairycake · 02/09/2008 15:19

this thread has made me chortle

It's not for actual rain, just skipping between bunting-cupcake shops with a brolly over your head

tsk.....tsk.....silly girl

maidamess · 02/09/2008 15:25

This is why I bought my all singing all dancing 100% waterproof and pretty natty to boot raincoat from PRIMARK.

SoupDragon · 02/09/2008 16:23

Oddly enough, I'm going to Primark tomorrow to look at the coats!

I pointed out to Boden that the "rainy day" jacket was about as much use in the rain as a paper umbrella with holes in it.

giraffemum, mine doesn't make me look like SM or KK, like them it just looks nice but is fairly useless.

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 02/09/2008 16:24

Oh, and mine has a zip, not buttons.

I once had a rain coat that wasn't only not waterproof it produced a semen like white junk when it rained. Of course I didn't know until I was actually out in the rain wearing it. I looked like well, I don't know what - something very odd!

SoupDragon · 02/09/2008 16:46

I have ordered the Urban Mac - but suspect it will be vile. I had a letter from Kevin telling me it was out of stock and would be in on 10th September. I knew it was out of stock when I ordered it and on a 3 week wait, so why they felt the need to send a letter is beyond me. I wonder if they ever plant any trees?

And have you seen the mugs? Who wants a car with Johnnie's favourite print on it? Well the car maybe just not plastered in Boden ta.

Anouck is annoying me in the catalogue.

HOW much

cthea · 02/09/2008 17:42

Bloody hell, jura, that goes beyond middle class, that's filthy rich. Don't spit on Johnny's Rainyday jacket. It will go rigth through to the skin.
