To be completely shocked that...

I have spent my entire adult life thinking I am 5ft 2.

I had a medical today.

I am only 5ft 1.

everythigni believed,is a lie!!! And, I'm even more of a shortarse than I thought.

Funny thing is though, avccording to height charts etc, DS will be 6 ft.

That should be amusing in a few years (he's 3 and half right now).

I'm five foot 3 and always thought I was five foot two. I put it down to having ME in my 20s and having to lie down a lot!

But actually I behave like I'm 6 foot. Most people think I'm at least five eight.

my family are all tall. i have no idea my height. never been measured since high school?? what age do you grow till. i was 5foot 8 inch last measurement. must be taller than that now as dp is 5foot 9inch and i'm a teeny tiny bit taller. (although he argues point blank that he is the male and he is taller of our relationship)

dp family are all short. his dd from previous is under 5foot, not sure what. but think she'll be really pissed off if my dd is taller. which looks possible as she's 99th percentile on her charts for height.

how do you all know your height??? i just dont see why i need to know?

My old flatmate and I were sort of thrown together. She was 6 foot but used say 5' 11". We got on great and we are still friends, but it was kind of a first for both of us. She used to make me go shopping with her and we would go into long tall sally. I used to get a fit of giggles in there because I used to think, I wonder do people think I think I'm tall. I am very silly

I'm 5.1,

My brothers are 6.1, 6.2 and 6.4

My Mom was 5.10

Dad 5.8

i went to long tall sally once and lady said they didn't do my size. she was sure clothes would be too long for me. she was a right narky cow till i came out dressing room. then she clicked i have short body and long legs!!

needless to say i never bought anything and told women i would never shop there again.

i have two very close friends, both over 6ft, other friend I see regularly are all over 5.7, I must gravitate towards tall people, just to make myself feel shorter [sob]

DH is 6.00

Even DGD is the same height as me already at 13.

At least DS is only 5.8

i was like that in poncy posh maternity shop in knightsbridge once. went in looking a scruff (hey, i needed that maternity wear, man) and they just looked down their noses at me. so i tried lots on, flashed my (dp's) goldcard at them and didnt buy anything.
was a bit pathetically like pretty woman actually...[frowns and ponders wisdom of posting shit story on tinternet...] [does so anyway]

Zazen , DS is 3ft 3 at the moment. He is just about up to my chest!

My Dad is 6ft so it's possible he will be that size.

elmoandella, I only know my height because I was measured today for a medical. Before that I measure dmyself against my mum, who is 5ft 2 and I was the same size as her.

My mother blames my height on the Martini I drank when I was 18 months (apparently my first word was 'more' for my great grannie's Martini), but I think it was possibly more genetic as most of the women (apart from Ma) in my family have been under 5'4".

Was very glad of that family history when medics suggested growth hormones when I was a child and Ma could reject the suggestion.

I am 5'2 and a half. The same height as Madonna apparently - (although twice her weight). The shortest part of me is my body and when i put the Tens machine on during Labour DH had to laugh. The top two patches go on the bottom rib. The bottom two patches go an inch or so above the hips.

Mine overlapped!

Hmm, my mum went to a beer festival when pregnant with me, (she didn't know!)

Maybe I can blame her for my inch loss?

Definitely - you can say some completely barking woman on MN says it's her fault cos she drank and alcohol stunts your growth!

I have always added an extra inch on my height, 1/2 stone off my weight and 2 years off my age. I think it is my perogative! I might start taking 3 or 4 years off my age soon.

Gosh, haven't measured myself for years. Better check I'm still that inch over 5 foot.

Not that I care. My DH must like short legs, we have a dachshund. And its soo much better
when you're flying economy. Legroom not a problem.

Ds made me stand against the height chart when we went to the school uniform shop. Apparently I'm only the height of a 15yo! (It didn't say but I'm assuming the chart was for boys because I am 5' 7").
