ShyBaby · 01/09/2008 23:45

Well I always thought I was 5ft 3 but im actually 5ft 4...YAY! (Still a shortarse though)

Wezzle · 01/09/2008 23:46

So I may have to lose 'the bit' from my 5'3 and a bit

although I do feel tall-ish on this thread

Lauriefairycake · 02/09/2008 07:35

I always claim I am 5ft 1".

I am really 4ft 11 and a half

think 5ft 3 is the average for all women in this country(obviously it's taller if you only count the younger peeps)

Lauriefairycake · 02/09/2008 07:36

I used to be bullied have the piss taken out of me at work cos if I was an inch shorter I could officially compete in the midget olympics

Freckle · 02/09/2008 07:37

I had the opposite. Spent my entire adult life believing I was 5'2" until my niece said she was taller than I and my sister measured me to prove it. I'm actually 5'3" so not quite the shortarse I thought I was. Still a foot shorter than dh though so will have to put up with being called one.

Janos · 02/09/2008 08:20

I still get the mick taken out of me now for being a shortarse

However, someone did once tell me that I sounded taller than I am, which I think was meant to be a compliment.

And thank you for pointing out that lack of height is a positive advantage on public transport, Grimma

I blame my mum smoking while pg! Funnily enough, DH doesn't think I am that short, in fact no-one believes that I am only 5ft 2, even though I don't always wear heels. I must just appear bigger.

This sounds really weird but does anyone else find shortness makes them feel younger. I just don't feel tall enough to have a child!

at you lot. I didn't realise mumsnetters were so short [stares down from great height].

Although I did live next-door to a proper dwarf for a while, so you're all imposters anyway.

[leaves thread and trips over knee-height mumsnetter]

That reminds me Bumperlicious...

I was out with DS in his pushcahir - would have been about 12 months (I think). Anyway, we were waiting at a bus stop and the woman standing next to me said:

'What a lovely little boy, is he yours?'

Me: 'Yes' (thinking of course..)

Her: 'But..he's so big and you're so...tiny!'

Me: '(laughing) yes, I suppose so'

Obviously I mean DS was 12 months, just in case it wasn't clear ....

How can you tell anyone that you are 4' 11 and a half ???

Miggsie · 02/09/2008 08:54
