To ask my neighbour to wash her car?

It is so filthy, and looks especially bad in the sunshine. We have a shared driveway and I hate that my guests have to see it as they arrive.

If she can't be bothered to wash it (and she spends enough time smoking in the garden every day to wash it ten times over fgs) she could at least park it in the garage.

zippitippitoes · 01/09/2008 11:54

or something similar

I think it is a jolly good idea to ask her to wash her car.

And afterwards you could change your name to HyacinthBouquet.

You can always tell a blagger by the fact that even though they are told to piss off they don't retaliate, they just continue to post on the subject, its a dead giveaway.. NEXT!

Overmydeadbody · 01/09/2008 11:56

Oh my gosh that is shocking! A dirty car and you share a driveway? You are right to be concerned, I mean, what if your visitors think it is your car?!

You need to sort out this problem now. Have you considered reporting her to the ocuncil? Perhaps they could issue her with an asbo?

SuchAPerfectDay · 01/09/2008 11:57

Oh Zippi I would love to but that would just bring down the tone even more. It's only recently their car has been so bad, I wish I knew why, maybe she's depressed?

Last month we had to deal with white vans on the road for almost a week as our neighbours had new windows put in, it was hideous. what next?

Oh well, if there are agreements then I expect you have one of those lovely neighbourhood committees to sort out that sort of thing for you. Make sure and ask Chardonnay to put it onto the next agenda for you, along with the item about number 12's unacceptable grass-cutting schedule.

mrsmalumbas · 01/09/2008 12:01

Good wind up, Perfect Day.

SuchAPerfectDay · 01/09/2008 12:02

Why are you making fun? We paid a premium for this house expecting we wouldn't have to deal with such irritations as this. Did we waste our money?

yabu
and very daft

SuchAPerfectDay · 01/09/2008 12:04

Before the children we lived in inner city London for years, I wanted to move to somewhere we knew would always look lovely, where there would be no fridges in gardens or unkempt lawns. Where we would feel happy and safe, and I could wash the dishes with a lovely view of tidy gardens with neat borders. This huge dirty car is ruining my life.

mrsleroyjethrogibbs · 01/09/2008 12:06

you poor unfullfilled person

lulumama · 01/09/2008 12:07

if you paid a premium, you would not have anything as common as a shared drive

LoveMyGirls · 01/09/2008 12:07

Why dont you write on it "i wish my husband was this dirty?" or "clean me" when she's not looking then she might wash it out of embarrassment lol

OrmIrian · 01/09/2008 12:09

"I wanted to move to somewhere we knew would always look lovely"

Try Stepford.

ScottishMummy · 01/09/2008 12:10

daftpunk · 01/09/2008 12:10
